Great show but it did highlight the snobbery in that game. I often try to imagine rocking up to somewhere like Tom Hartleys and trying to engage in a purchasing dance. I can only imagine the level of analysis that they undertake, assessing attire, accent, travel arrangements etc.
I know some of it is necessary to weed out the dreamers but Id dread going to buy from them.

Definitely, for me buying a car or bike is a journey not a popularity contest. Which is what disappoints me about porsche. I used to be a huge fan, until the whole gt3 debacle/phenomenon. I like to absorb and experience what's out there before making my decision. Those sorts of places seem to look at the meta data of a buyer as opposed to the buyer him/herself and what they want.

Some questions about those exceedingly uncommon tyres:

Assuming the same bolt pattern, would it be possible to fit slightly different wheels -- wheels for which more mainstream tyres are available?

Alternatively, could one just have a set of wheels made by one of the many aftermarket / bespoke wheel manufacturers? This of course would not be a low-cost solution. However, given the price of this vehicle, it's a not unreasonable way to end this matter, once and for all. The bespoke wheels could be manufactured to serve as close to the OEM spec as possible whilst maintaining fitment for readily-available tyres.

Doesn't matter if the next owner wants them for a museum piece. I'm sure you can have them coated/protected for indoor storage - lots of cars are in collections/museums with good-looking rubber still.

I'm wondering the same thing. Is there a way to conserve the tyres, to keep them out of air's harmful way? Keeping them in a vacuum bag? Or perhaps a layer of vaseline applied to them, or another petroleum-based product?
