The GT4 was by far and away the most focused and to me desirable Caymann that Porsche made. No doubt they’ll make a 718 version eventually, and it’ll be as hard to obtain and as coveted as a 911. .
Rather depends on which 911.

If made, production numbers for the 718 GT4 could well be approaching 1000 for the UK so theoretically it will be easier to buy than the 981.
Will that not be less than current production numbers of the 981 GT4?

Good point. I meant to refer to GT3 - now edited.

Interesting I thought it was more than that. Makes me wonder why there are so many for sale then!

It's an emotive purchase, cmoose, not a rational one. Not sure I can articulate, nor justify, why I want a 911 over a Cayman.

Perhaps it's upbringing; seeing 911's on track in formative years, getting a ride in an early air-cooled, having a thing for the iconic profile. Then again, maybe having had such a ball in a 991.1 makes me want to stick with 911.

The GT4 is out of the equation as it isn't in production. And 718 4-cylinder drives have done noting for me - I wanted to like but couldn't connect.

What would you do, cmoose?

Up to 10% of the UK Porsche GT/halo cars are normally for sale at some point in the first 3 years after introduction.

If there is a 718 GT4, it will be 6 cylinder.

It'll be terrific I'm sure, but not easily attainable. Perhaps they'll give us the 718T. biggrin
