You don't honestly think that a £30k car that is 18months old with 12k miles on it selling for £26k is bad, do you? Thats bloody miracle lack of depreciation. You are on a different planet.
I'm predicting the RS will be about £20k on dealer forecourts at 3 years old. The people on different planets are the ones expecting them to be worth way more than that.

Even if they are £20k, thats £3300per year to drive a brand new 345bhp hot hatch.
Surely you don't think thats expensive for a new car? Thats cheap motoring to me.

My 14 year old Volvo cost me £3k in repairs one year.

Amazing amount of concern for a car you've not even driven lol

To save time;

5 doors,
5 year warranty,
Anyone's opinion on PH is bks, especially since a non owner has never driven one,
Low depreciation, cheap motoring,
Great fun, best car ever,
Attracts young boys,
Objectively, nothing touches it,
Knob or complete tt if you disagree.

Don't think I've missed anything

The civic interior looks fantastic, and well put together. Of course I could be wrong, but it looks great. Seats also look really good, but they always have been in Type R's. Gearchange as well. I think its got all the right things going for it, for a hot hatch. It is pretty odd looking though. Maybe the colour makes a difference.

The Focus I want to like, but I just don't. At 1600KG its got a bit silly weight wise as well.

My opinion is that the CTR is too ugly to live with and I like that the RS is stiff and oversteers so readily.
But if you wanted oversteer why buy a hatchback that offers a one dimensional version? The Focus RS let's face it is already last years car.

Does that mean nobody is allowed to like one or buy one anymore then? laugh

There's a world of difference between a stiff chassis and a stiffly sprung underdamped one. It's hardly any stiffer than an ST is it? And it's certainly stiffly sprung and underdamped.

No, but when the usual suspects start talking about 4WD cars and oversteer it just makes me smile. If you want oversteer buy a bloody RWD car and enjoy it! Hopefully all this will do is drive prices of the RS and CTR down, they're both absolutely brilliant things and we are all spoilt for choice. As soon as the next OMG thing is released they become forgotten. I don't write the rules.

That I do agree with! Between these two, the Golf R, A45 AMG, RS3 and upcoming Megane, there really is something for everyone.

Well for me I grew up with the hot hatches and I’ve had enough of front wheel drive really - sure I can appreciate a nice balance in the chassis but they don’t excite me.

The Focus on the other hand, does. Four wheel drive is just a little bit different and it’s really nice to see the RS badge back properly so I would definitely give one a go!

I see you’re already adjusting your estimate upwards. What was it a few weeks back, 15k?

What other 5door hatchbacks offer awd grip when you want it and lairy oversteer antics at the prod of a throttle? If you know of any then it may be a contender for my next car. If not then it is a unique car and serves me perfectly thanks.
