What was that German project to build a sensibly-sized coupe, properly compact platform, shades of Alpine 110? I got very excited about it, then they went bust. Began with A, I think. Getting old...memory's going.
Artega. The GT was sort-of a Cayman competitor, albeit not cheap.

Saw one in the flesh at the N'ring (GP-strecke paddock) some years ago, at a Modena Trackdays event...

Artega still exist; the GT is now a full-on EV renamed the Scalo. They sell for around £145k...

Until the specs are revealed with motor placement, battery size & configuration etc, I'm on the fence. Love the styling.

White is Honda's traditional racing colour - that is why these concepts are debuted as shown.

Yep, as others have said, very appealing design. Thanks Honda! I've never been tempted to buy a brand new car, but if these become available then I might have to seriously re-think that. Please bring it to Australia!

Well...it sure beats the fussy tortured surfaces of their current design language. I quite like it although it looks more retro-Toyota than Honda.

As far as any suggestion that an EV can be some sort of "spiritual successor" to the S2000? Well, without a VTEC engine that revs to infinity, a manual gearbox and RWD? It isn't.

I love these, but it's probably going to follow a path of showing us what we could have had. Then bdising the design into a "safe" shape to appeal to the masses. Companies tend not to have the balls to try something new, sticking close to what the do already as a less risky option when coming to market. It's a sad corporate strategy.

I'll be watching the sports car with interest. It's about time someone had a go at producing a proper pure-EV sports car without an astronomical price-tag.

Very nice, not sure if modern interpretation of a retro can be really classed by some of the comments but the hatch is very well executed.
Not worried about these being electric, must be converting over by osmosis.

There really needs to be a 3rd part to this, a utility van style 'car'. Like an Element (not sold in the UK).

I really like and agree with what the Designer Harada said: ‘You say there are classic ’60s design elements on the car. I would say that we as human being haven’t changed; beautiful is still beautiful and you cannot deny biology.’

So what's under the long bonnet? Or is it just there to make it look 'normal'?
