What’s your problem with rented or leased vehicles?

I take it you don’t have a credit card, never had a loan for anything and if you do own a house you purchased it outright?
Yes to all...thankyou

Then consider it a bonus that you were provided with an answer from somebody other than who you wanted one from.

Some people are never satisfied.

What’s it to you, anyway?

I always understood that filtering was down the middle of two lanes of traffic, (Motorway, DC). Any other type, as described, is mere overtaking.

i've never ridden a motorbike and have no intention of ever doing so, but if i could filter traffic i certainly would, and if i can move over to allow someone coming the other way to do what they need to do then i will, rather than be a little beeyatch about it.

I very much doubt it. If they were the sensitive, shrinking violet, types who cared what others thought they wouldn't do it in the first place.

The only people who seem to get upset are those who don't do it, ergo many posters on this thread or the number plate thread. These threads would not exist otherwise.
Don’t agree with that. I have my own personal plate. I enjoy seeing what people come up with and trying to figure out what some of them mean. Done well they can add a bit of fun or even charm and character to a car.

But if theyre blacked out, 3D printed, or have BO55 in them, I think they look super tacky and it makes me laugh as I doubt that was the objective. Even if they don’t care what I or anyone else thinks (which again I doubt)

If they’re happy, good for them. Still makes me think “knob” which was the whole point of this thread.

Good for you, however Riding into the face of oncoming traffic expecting them to move over is stupidity to put it mildly. There’s a reason why there are lines going down the middle of the road.

I regularly ride in the opposite lane - but I treat it as an overtaking maneouver. I don't expect people to move out of my way - but if they do, then I'll make use of that space.

I'll turn this around to the knobhead who beeped me when I was overtaking a vehicle turning left, remaining in my lane. Because he wanted to squeeze past another cyclist, and straddle the line doing so. rolleyes

Filtering...... why not? It isn’t a ‘right’ but a benefit of riding a bike or a cycle thingy. I ride or have ridden both in all traffic.

Treat it as a benefit and you won’t pi55 anyone off. Treat it as a ‘right’ and grip tight on that gum shield!!

Deliberately go out of your way to STOP someone filtering? Grade A knob!!!

Facilitate someone filtering because you’ve seen them in advance and it is safe to do so - what’s the opposite of knob?

Not facilitate filtering in heavy traffic, it’s just heavy traffic. Clip someone’s mirror for not looking, filtering Guy is a knob!

I don’t think this approach is unreasonable wink
