I assume his insurance company would get invoiced for that?
If the gate opened too early, why is this driver "a knob"? Also there's actually two cars (one from either side) that cross just before the train gets to the crossing.

Exactly. If you actually bother to read the news report there was a fault with the crossing settings. Quite scary.

He wont

For a start there aren't (any?) many multiple world champions who have been beaten over a full season by one teammate (after winning their first title) let alone 2, the car is hugely dominant. Without Hamilton we'd probably have Bottas as a 4 time WDC, a man who struggled to beat a past it Reubens Barichello.

He's good, hes great even. He's never the best
Vettel, Schumacher, Alonso. Senna, Hakkinen and Prost, from recent memory just off the top of my head.

Faulty gate or not neither of them managed to notice a whacking great train with blazing headlights literally feet away so carried on across the crossing.

If it's the crossing I'm thinking of then from one direction certainly trains are screened from the road by a thick hedge.

Part of that line was closed for a while because the shiny new trains were not interacting with signalling equipment properly.

You'd have to be in a compromised position to be in a position to see the thing coming. At that point, carrying on forwards is probably as evasive as it is to put it in reverse.

But of course, this being PH, someone will find somehow that the driver(s) are at "fault" rolleyes

Yes, definite knob this one.

But wrong

How did hakkinen get beaten by two team mates after he won title number 1? For example.... did Senna or Prost? Don’t think so either?

To clarify I’m talking about being beaten by two team mates after title number 1....

How do you know this?
Do you look up and down a railway track every time yo go over a crossing? I can think of a couple of level crossings near me where a road runs parallel to the line, so seeing a light l would not think of a train especially as the gates where open.
If I have started to move and suddenly l realise there is a train coming, stopping immediately will still mean my car is likely to stop on or very near the line. I then have to engage reverse, with the thought a several hundred tonne train is bearing down on me.

Yep, I think in such a situation I would simply put my foot down rather than risk not getting it in reverse and take the hit of the gear-change-time, especially in my mr2 which can be a pain to get into reverse at the best of times and sometimes "jumps out" (not a major problem for parking and such but it might be when a train is about to smash me and car into pieces).

OK read it - it still means what the world uses it to mean, or the whole first half of the sentence is irrelevant,
No one had ever spoken to Newuserman let alone met him ...
Does that mean that no one has met him but loads have spoken to him.

No idea what you’re prattling on about but you even quoted the bit I wrote that you claimed I didn’t mean.

CBA Discussing the intent further as we both know that you understand it now so the point stands. He’s great but he ain’t the greatest, and neither is the German

From Wednesday afternoon.

Woman in her 30's, in an i20, doing between 45 & 50mph, whilst MLM'ing & drifting between the lines on the M3. Whilst overtaking her i glanced over and realised why. Left hand grabbing hold of a large yoghurt pot, right hand holding the spoon and attempting (badly) to shovel the contents in whilst also trying to steady the steering wheel to correct the drift.
