The knob on a motorbike this morning. Their riding was fine, but the tttish numberplate was not.

Car shaped plate but about 1/4 of the size so you could barely read it. Registration number was a candidate for the bad plates thread, and the plate itself was fixed at a 45 degree angle to the road, so you could only really read it if you were standing behind the bike looking down on it.

And I say all this as a biker myself.

The guy on the motorbike who filtered up the inside of me while I was waiting at traffic lights and then pulls up slightly in front of my car.

Then when lights change to green I let him move off first and still have to dab the brakes a few times to avoid running him over.

I guess my shopping cart surprised him off the line and his "sports bike" was just a pile of wk!

Why pull in front of my car when there was still room at the side?!

I nearly went all Honda Civic on him furiouslaugh

The outside line hogging fat biff woman in an old Mrc convertible doing 40mph on a 50mph dual carriageway with bothlanes being clear who when I decided to undertake her then flashes her lights, hoots the horn and gives me the coffee shaker motion?!!!

Seeing as how fugly she was and how beat up her rag top Merc was I guess this was the only way people would look at her!

I seem to see this more frequently. I would love a therapy session with one of these people to explain their understanding and logic in this situation.

Clearly they perceive themselves to be in the right but i can't fathom how they rationalize this in their head or why they think this is good driving protocol - or more so why they become aggressive when people have to adapt their driving to suit their standards.

Reminds me of a lady i used to work with who owned a Boxster and would always drive it 10-20mph below the speed limit, which while not illegal, thought no one should overtake her as she drove a Porsche - most bizzare 'do they know what it is....' ROFL

It's because they are turning right about 3 miles further down the road and don't want to have to move right when their turn is coming up, selfish F**ks furious

I guess this is one 50% knob and 50% laugh at the person in question.

People walking round (usually not looking where they're going) whilst talking into their phones, and now also watches, as though they're either a failed candidate on The Apprentice, or some kind of government agent on assignment.
Sorry, I know this comment is nearly two years old, but no one pulled you up on it...

People now supposedly aren't allowed to walk while talking on their phones or looking at their watch?

So if I want to see what time it is I have to stop?

I think that'd make me more of a knob. Maybe I'm misunderstanding

You did- talking into their watches, not just looking at them.

I think this comment goes primarily for anyone who calls anyone else on speakerphone anywhere public- nobody wants to hear your conversation you .

Oh yes, misread about talking into watches.

Now, re-reading it, I am taking it to mean "talking into their phones in the same manner as Apprentice candidates do, on speakerphone with the phone flat"

....which is not at all what the guy wrote

To me it relates to those people with their head stuck in their gadget/phone that are oblivious of the people behind them politely trying to get by as they zig-zag along the pathway, or the near misses they are constantly having with cars, buses, bikes and other pedestrians that actually are paying attention to the dangers around them.

They are the pedestrian equivalent of a slow caravan on a busy single lane road and I see loads on London's streets. Its even more pronounced when they have earphones in.

This concerns people far more important than you or me. People who are so distracted by all those vital notifications that they walk straight into...well, anything

Green number plates wink

And I actually like ev's
I know that plant vehicles have green flashing lights to show the Health and Safety rep' the operator has the seatbelt behind them but green number plates will have to reflect white up front and amber otherwise they could be mistaken for a medical practitioner registered by the General Medical Council.

hehe

This week...

Knobs who use old photos to advertise something. I've been looking at track day trailers (now the season is all but over and they are cheaper) and it's like a dating site where the photo looks really good but the reality is simply terrible. Two of the trailers I have looked at were too dangerous to leave the site let alone carry anything valuable, but looked okay in the advert.

I bought a 5th wheel trailer off ebay - they'd used the pics when they'd bought it 3 yrs earlier, without the dents !

I'd already insured it and driven 150 miles...

I drove 3 hours each way to see a Land Rover that looked immaculate in the high res pics. I even zoomed in on all the problem areas and they were perfect. When I drove up to the car, I could see the corrosion bubbling the paint from 100 yards away. It was obvious the pics were taken a while ago, but apparently they were the only ones he had laugh

They wouldn’t do that with a car, so why do they think a trailer is fair game?

Did they lower the price on the day??

People who regularly park on private land or deliberately overstay a ticket - and then complain about parking companies catching them.

This should probably be on the bad parking thread or somewhere in Speed, Plod and Law section but...

There is a discussion on antisocial media about parking in a way that blocks footpaths and how it put pedestrians and others at undue risk. A campaign is being run by Guide Dogs for the Blind to raise awareness and make parking in such a way illegal.

We already know that...

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/52/sectio...

...is a separate offense but parking is a simple, basic part of driving. So shouldn't failure to park to an acceptable standard also be failure to drive to the standard expected of a competent driver? By parking or abandoning a vehicle in such a way that it places others at undue risk.

Careless Driving or Driving Without Due Care and Attention (consideration).

scratchchin

What do you guys think?

Anyway knobs one and all who think they literally own the road outside their property and can block the path or road. Knobs who looked at the property with no off street parking and bought/rented it anyway and knowing they had nowhere to park bought a car big enough to block the path/road anyway... etc. wink

Whichever stupid bellend was responsible for sorting out the lane closures for the M3/M25 slip road closure at the weekend.

The slip road south was closed (towards Gatwick), so what did these stupid chumps do? Close the 2 north filter lanes (towards Heathrow) then open one after 300m of closed lanes, so everyone has to do a fking slalom just to get onto the M25.

shout OpulentBob please give me the rationale behind it - I cannot fathom it and it seemed to just cause 40 mins of traffic (when we got there) was longer as I went past it on the way home.

When I grew up, a family of chavs moved in a few doors down the road. One of the daughters used to park her car outside our house which was on a blind corner and was always a point of 'discussion' between her and my father. However, at one time. her latest boyfriend (there were lots...) then took to parking his car by sticking the nose in their driveway behind the cars already there, but leaving the car then right across the pavement and with its boot sticking out in the road. We had a few elderly people in the area (including my own grandparents) who were forced right out into the road to get round it, but the police didn't want to know.

Anyway, one night, i was returning home from the pub a little........'refreshed' and decided I couldnt be bothered to go round said car, but instead walk directly over it. I did no damage other than to leave a few muddy footprints behind but the bloke got the message and didn't do it again!

Note, I am not proud of this behaviour and do not condine it, blaming it on the folly of youth and quite a few pints of HSB. More importantly, the chap in question was a big lump and would have beaten seven buckets out of me if he'd caught me, but still...
