Once again I ask the question of PH - why do you never show the boot of any estate car you feature?
One of the reasons that people pick an estate is down to the size of the boot, and no article I can remember has an image shown as part of the review.
To be fair, it's not hard to Google images for "Volvo V60 load bay."One of the reasons that people pick an estate is down to the size of the boot, and no article I can remember has an image shown as part of the review.
Volvo should find a bit of large furniture that Ikea sells lots of, and design the (seats folded down) load bay/aperture to fit that. "Fitting the sofa in" is Volvo's thing.
The V60 does look nice and this looks quick, so it's not all doom and gloom. It'd be nice to make record Ikea trips with though.

Not quite sure that's Polestar's objective. The V60 does look nice and this looks quick, so it's not all doom and gloom. It'd be nice to make record Ikea trips with though.

You'd reasonably expect to hear about performance features of a supercar, but would be a bit suprised if they never told you the horsepower, rather let you google it.

It's also fair to expect an article reviewing an estate to feature that information. You're absolutely right I can google the answer, but that isn't the point -

I can see why you're frustrated, but I view it in a different way. We might have to agree to disagree on this one! You'd reasonably expect to hear about performance features of a supercar, but would be a bit suprised if they never told you the horsepower, rather let you google it.
This is not reading an article about a supercar; it's an article about the performance model of a more prosaic car. When I read such an article, I'm more interested in how it varies from the basic model, and if I want to learn more about the practicalities of buying a model, then I read the review of the common garden variant.

Agreed the best looking V8 supercar ever made.
As well as being one of the best sounding V8 Supercars I've heard.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ3jXFJMVrc
You could defo tell them going past during a race.
Me during a very wet weekend last year.
This is the sort of thing Polestar *should* be doing. Instead they pull their cars & support.

Agreed, but i want to know what size dog I can fit in my boot whilst taking part in BTCC! The boot isn't as big as you'd expect of a Volvo - it's more of a generous hatchback!
As others have said, lots of options around that price point - wonder if they'l make a relative bargin in 3-5 years time. Hub said:

Perfectly true. I was looking at more base-level V60s before buying an Octavia estate. The "estate" tag misleads a bit, and the boot floor is quite high, limiting space more than the roofline. The V60 is probably best viewed as a spacious hatchback that your dog has a bit more headroom in. You certainly won't be lugging around washing machines in one.

SUVs are the new estates.

At £40k, this could have a following
But at £50k, you would have to be a big Volvo fan to choose this over more illustrious competitors.
That was about the biggest reason I bought mine in 2015 (6cyl obvs), I got a big £9k off list ! I hear they will talk serious discount on the 4 cyl version too. I think mine was taking up a big lump of showroom space, which TBH was a bit niche and wanted rid of it. Hellova car though! But at £50k, you would have to be a big Volvo fan to choose this over more illustrious competitors.

I have to disagree about the Mercs sounding better though;

Volvo is the only major brand I have no desire to buy a car from. They just look awful and the "old man" image never goes away. I would even buy a Skoda or Kia, in the right model, but never a Volvo.
Being a Volvo owner can I just say that never before have I found one of your comments more satisfying...blearyeyedboy said:

That's what the V90/XC90's for though...
Exactly my point. For what it is, V60 does a job very well.I've got one in diesel spec and it's great for what it is. I don't need a huge estate but I like having an estate and I prefer the looks over the saloon equivalent. Am seriously tempted by a Polestar as my mileage has changed and will see what they retail like in 2-3 years.
Good, or bad, thing about the V60 is new depreciation is falling-off-a-cliff like so could pick up a relative bargain in a few years.
Someone earlier said why pick one of these instead of the usual German equivalent? Suppose it's a bit left field compared to the competition and I'm not a huge fan of German metal so it appeals to me more. (Not deriding German stuff - just never floated my boat).
