168MPH in a Golf Estate!! That's just amazing. I thought £40K for a Golf was bonkers, but this Golf is not longer just a wee quick hatchback. It's a proper high speed do it all weapon for the road.
I'd love to see a Ferrari 355 v one of these head to head to see the differences time has made

I've never understood the cynicism directed towards the Golf R in particular regarding lease deals etc. If it allows more people access to what they want that can't be a bad thing can it? It's not as if we're all being forced to have one for crissakes.

Rawwr's point was a £3k exhaust on a £30k car. The BMW example was a £2.5k exhaust on a £60k car. I know a guy that put a £20k exhaust on an Aventador.
