My commute is interesting: 37 miles of mostly twisting A, B and C roads with a range of corners, blind crests, compressions etc. I'm very lucky, but the truth is, the speed limit is mostly 60mph, the slowest bends about 45mph, average bends taken at about 50-55mph, and many bends don't require any slowing at all. Even with my energy saver tyres limiting cornering speed (a deliberate choice...), power is wasted on such a road because you only ever accelerate by 5-10mph. Handling and controls are what matters. I've always found power is only really used in semi-urban environments, where you get roundabouts and traffic lights leading onto dual carriageways. Even then, a really quick road car like my recently owned 2-Eleven simply has unusable power unless you want to risk jail time with three figure speeds.
That was my commute in a 330d.... I was always wishing I was in something more fun. When the commute was swapped for a Lotus, it was wink Not all about power.

yes Absolutely. Of all the cars I've owned in the past, I'd choose my Elise for my current commute. I had a similar commute when I owned it and enjoyed every single mile, even when stuck behind slower cars. This is where multiple cars come in... I can't use an Elise as my road car now because I need to carry big stuff around, tow and carry a family. One solution I'm looking at right now is a GT86, Boxster or Elise to commute in, a 530d for carrying stuff and the Formula Renault for track use. Multiple cars always wins for me.

Love having multiple cars, the only negatives are the tax and insurance.
I sometimes wonder, if I could put £150-200 more into a single car, I could undoubtedly but something flasher, but would it be more fun than having multi vehicles.

Oh, and washing. Having to wash 4 or 5 cars is a real pain!

That's what I've done. Difficult to find a car that acts as daily driver, family steed and ball-out fun though, and comes in under £6-figs.

Exige Cup 430 has been out almost 2 years now and contrary to some scaremongering it has remained much the same, other than the odd special !!

With only in the region of 25 in the UK it may turn out to be an excellent long term buy even though it’s £100,000 new. Only 2 used for sale in UK so look like keepers.

As a track weapon with reasonable running costs little comes close for those who want a newer car.

Will there be any run out specials ? , possibly but will only be cosmetic
