Love this generation of Corvette.

This or an Exige 430 at circa £100k? No contest.
I'd take the Exige too!
I knew someone would do this.

Predictable.

That looks like it would be easier to change the O/S/F wheel from the drivers seat than to change the radio station.

Haha, well that's what happens when you deal in "No Contest"..

Seriously though, I'd take the over-priced Exige before the Over-priced Corvette - both no doubt awesome cars, but the Lotus would be better suited to the majority of UK roads and tracks more of the time, IMO.

There is no price mentioned but I seriously doubt there is another car that will get anywhere near the performance of the ZR-1 for the same money. This will wipe the floor with most supercars.

yes 911 GT2 performance for likely around half the price.

And it will actually be for sale to real people, not only available through some weird handjob-a-dealer raffle.

Well everyone's different. I like Exiges but not at over £100k.

755bhp V8 with Le Mans pedigree is enough to convince me over a Toyota engined Lotus.

But each to their own.

That looks Bonkers. Has a Bonkers engine. Goes like Bonkers McBonk. And, by comparison with the marketing department tuned offerings from Porsche, Lotus et al, will have a Bonkers affordable price. If it sounds anything like the Le Mans racer version, it will sound Bonkers too.

Bonkers.

I want one... smile

There are rumours that this car is the "last hurrah" for front engine Corvettes with numerous spy shots of mid-engine mules out testing,
http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/n...

Time will tell, but it may be risky to change the basic formula of one of the world's most successful sporstcars.

What I don't understand is how they get through the pedestrian head impact testing with the air intake being in place of the actual bonnet.

Unless it's completely collapsible (i.e. wasted volume) or the car somehow doesn't have to comply with it either due to volumes or some other exemption.

Errm, not sure if serious, but that is actually vents to let hot air out of the engine bay.

What an odd response and strange way to involve yourself in a perfectly polite exchange between two other posters.

Perhaps quote the part where I said "is enough to convince me". Therefore I'm clearly just stating my preference. Nothing more. I'd take the Corvette, he'd take the Lotus.

I've no need to convince strangers on the internet of anything.

If I wanted to patronise someone, I'd pull you up for your spelling.

Is everyone here as friendly as you?

It's been said this ZR1 won't be offered for official sale in Europe due to the hood/bonnet height. You may have put your finger on the reason.

I can't fit in an Exige, I have bigger shoes.

Unsure about the front of this car but crazy numbers.

Any news on that mid-engined vette?

Do we know it's going to be about £100k? Genuine question.

No prices have been announced yet, but it's expected to be about $135k in the US.
