My mistake.

Although looking at it the S40 certainly looks like a C class type of car given it's size and shape, then the S60 being the next size up would indicate E class, and then S80 being the level above that.

Either way.....it's priced into S class and 7 series territory now!!

Yes, but the S40 has been replaced with the V40 which is a hatchback and slightly shorter than the outgoing S40, while the current A Class (Focus-sized) is 69 cm longer than the first gen A Class (which was the size of a Ka).

The (Chinese-only) 1-series saloon is the same size as the outgoing S40.

You can even buy a transverse engined FWD V8 Cadillac in RHD! This one has come from Japan judging my the KPH Speedo, but they sold (about three of) them in the UK through Vauxhall dealerships in one of the many laughable attempts to sell American mainstream tat in Europe.

The Seville STS that was sold here in right hand drive is a guilty pleasure of mine. I've always liked them.

I doubt very much I'll ever have one, but I appreciate them on the very rare occasion I see one. My dad's (now late) friend had one after a Lexus LS400 and always said he preferred the Cadillac. He just liked big V8 saloon cars that were a little different - I bet he would have had one of these Volvos, had he not died before they came out

I got to drive a few of these when they were current. The car in the OP is ex Volvo UK. I am surprised the one up for £17,995 isn't. The majority went onto they demo fleet and were then sold nearly new on the approved used car scheme at big discounts from list.

I remember a nice clock on the dash and an addictive engine note. The sounded absolutely superb. Moreso when cold.

They are both 2010 cars that have had the "refresh" facelift which you can tell from the silver trim under the rear lights and the addition of the clock on the dash. The refresh fixed a fair few issues from the first couple of years production run and came in during 2008. You see very very few V8s after the initial demo cars in 2006 and 2007. You'd have to be certifiable to pay £10k more for the 19k mile car vs the 54k mile car. The £18k one was registered 21/4/2010 and the one I found 06/01/2010 (my birthday!).

The V8 was dropped with the bigger facelift for the 2011 model year that saw the rather unattractive new dashboard design with the integrated screen, and replaced with the T6.

I'll just stroke my Volvo beard for a bit over here in the corner.

That's a very decent find. And it's an electric silver which is the best colour for these (in my opinion). The 4x4 stance has always cracked me up on these. This one seems even worse.

And it's a facelift, outside trim and the clock on the dash is a dead giveaway.

I have recently taken a job in Denmark, and will be moving there in the new year. Looking at BilBasen.dk the going rate for a 2006 model year year, with 205000km? £32K!!! And a further thousand per year to tax it. The prices over here (both cars and motorbikes) are eye watering.

Typical price for a V8 in good condition in Europe is 15-20k EUR. 32k GBP is crazy but that's just how the Scandinavian socialism rolls.
