Not sure I'd want much more power.
Half height springs and a jittery ride mean its about right on country lane with the power it has, start putting more power and its going to struggle for grip.
as for the MX5 comparison, the wind does have 2 advantages as far as my other half is concerned, its got a solid roof and the boot for a convertible is huge!
If she had the money though she'd have an MX-5 RF

In all fairness, I think it looks quite ugly, but it's certainly different! I must admit to being surprised by the fact it's got a petrol, I'd always throught they were electric, which would have explained the heidously enormous sides.
