The point being that if a normal company announced technology that didn't exist yet, the investors would be very unhappy and you'd expect to see class actions being taken.

So, either Musk really does have something significant up his sleeve (like a battery busting technology), or he's stepping into the realm of misleading investors. It'd be fantastic if it were the former, as we've been waiting for a step change in current battery technology for a couple of decades.

Although, I would counter that TSLA is a tech based stock in the growth phase so it's investors expect to hear golden tales of the future. Take an investment stock like VW and investors expect to hear pure, calculated facts and would be concerned if the board started issuing speculative dreams as factual statements.

Plus, you also have to consider that America is the global epicentre of corporate bks. You only have to spend of few hours on US soil to see every business claiming to be the world's best or first at something and for it to be very blatantly untrue.

Look at Musk through American eyes and as a tech growth play and you don't per se see the snake oil vendor that our European eyes see.

Either you go full "I'm so hip, I'm so Wall Street" or don't bother. The "Take an investment stock like VW" should read "Take an investment stock like VOW3". You're welcome.

Irrelevant. Look at how they told their lies. It wasn't in any flamboyant prediction of the future but as a statement of current fact. It's the perfect example of how two companies at different edges of the stock curve operate.

Special. rofl

Check out the TSLA stock price, the recent news flows appears to have stalled the decline.

Oh, and note it's a single listing equity unlike VW which if I recall has at least 4 and 4 tickers.

Stop being a weirdo. There's a good girl. wink

PS. Intelligent readers have obviously noticed that I've been using the TSLA ticker, since you appeared with your mentalism, in hopes that it winds you up. biggrin. TSLA TSLA TSLA

It's a very interesting company and play.

But it's not a religion. It's just a company. It's good and bad aspects are fully open to discussion. The problem with 'religious' types is they don't like open and honest discussion. They just want everyone else to firmly believe what they believe, without question. And when they doesn't happen they get terribly defensive and then stty.

Da facque are you on about here boay? I was merely pointing out that you need to stay consistent, if you go all Wall Street on us make sure you use tickers across the board. Saying TSLA and then saying VW (instead of VOW3) makes you look weak and amateurish. Very unlike these guys, one of which you aspire to be so much.

Sure.

One is carelessly breaking laws to poison us for profit, the other is trying to reduce harm to the planet and people.

At some point we have to temper our quest for $ a little..

These are just companies all seeking the maximum profit possible. They aren't religions.

Woah, back the truck up son. Back da truck up! They merely made a couple of hundreds of low quality long range electric cars and you're getting all emotional. Elon is yet to prove he actually wants to do what you just said here. So far he's coming up with those big promises that never fully materialise but make the sheep wet and the market follows. And he's getting loaded as a result of that baby!

Except that Telsa have actually got to quest for $ or they'll go bust and drag down a lot of EV innovation with them.

VW does not have 'poisoning us for profit' as a motive. If EVs are profitable (which they certainly weren't a decade ago, and barely possible when VW as a company was formed) then VW will produce EVs as fast as they can sell them.

Ascribing motives to companies does not really change what they do.

I though DonkeyApple was one of those guys (not literally of course)?
