From this angle it looks like it's got piles.

It looks like they've borrowed the interior from Mercedes as well as the engine.

Prefer the V12 Vantage.

Oh dear. Doesn't look as classy as the outgoing model and £120k for a entry level vantage that will depreciate like a stone. No thank you

I can hardly believe that design passed the approval of a whole team of people who you'd expect to know better. All ridges, angles, bits bolted on, overblown arches, a front "mouth" which is way too big and a rear that's so fussy. It looks like someone at Toyota in 1982 copied a photo of the previous model.

Admittedly the old Vantage was a very, very tough act to follow but this really isn't a good look for AM. It looks like a cross between a Corvette and the new TVR Griffith. It's a f**king mess...

The mess of buttons reminds me of the blackberry iPhone battle several years ago. Will people prefer this analogue interaction or Tesla's software move?

That front grille - whilst not so bad on darker cars - has a dose of 'witch doctor's lip' and I've zero idea where a UK plate will do without looking silly?

That interior has too much of the "put all the things in a cannon and fire them at the dash" vibe too - it's not a 90s Corvette (wiper controls on the door anyone?) or a 00s Maserati (less dashboard, more 3D control puzzle) but it's still a right hash.

I dislike the Tesla 'tablet' interior - touch controls suck - but there's definately room for improvement here.

Wow, that looks great. Was unsure about the rear 'lip', but it is growing on me quite quickly.

That's a very 'Mercedes AMG GT' interior, tho... wink (and no bad thing for it, IMHO!)

ETA: Once again tho - where does the front numberplate go on this British car??

Last time I asked the UK only made up 20% of sales so won't be the main consideration for design.

I always love this forum for the 'looks like a....',

Do you do the same with everything you see? Here's my take on a non-car conversation with the average PHer:

'Amber Heard is hot but she kind of looks like Pamela Anderson mixed with that girl from Twilight'
'Flew on that new A380 to Tenerife, looks like a double decker bus had intercourse with a Cessna'
'Saw that new Banksy at the Tate, looks like Andy Warhol's painting by numbers book'
'Did you see that new Rolex? Why would you spend 20k when my Casio tells the same time?'

Please can someone come up with a design that can't be linked to some 80's Mazda or a Lotus no-one cares about. Just so the rest of us don't have to skip over obscure references to get to a sensible comment.

I think the exterior could be a grower in the right colour.... but an Aston Martin is NOT the place for a chintzy merc interior. I fail to see any reason to buy this over the merc gts which looks better on the outside, has the same engine, same size, same interior etc.

Have Aston simply Rebodied the merc gts? I guess the zf8 speed is slightly better than the merc box.

I was thinking S2000 actually !

I assume the person picking the pictures for this PH piece did not like the yellow colour so only chose the silver grey marketing shots? I think that could be classed as trying to lead the jury.

To me I would have to see it in the flesh. From pictures the front headlights seem too small which means the grill looks a bit big. More worrying to me is how much that rear diffuser looks in real life, out of place?
