I don’t think the times you’re talking about are unrealistic, all I was saying is that I don’t think finance companies and manufacturers actively sit on stock, I don’t think they can afford to.
I just gave exampled of turn around times, I didn't disagree with you. I thought that Audi disposed of the car quite quickly while with Mercedes it really took time. I was actively waiting for one of them to show up for sale so my friend can buy it. He thought about it for too long and when he decided, he couldn't buy it directly from MBFS any more. So we waited until it's back on a market.

I guess I always check what happens with my previous cars. VW which I sold to trader, was "rotting" on another trader's forecourt for 5 months until it was sold. So going back to original question: it's not unusual for car being stored somewhere for months.

Not sure I should admit this right now. I work for a fleet solutions business and find myself disagreeing with one particular person on here.
Oh go on. Who?
PM sent.

He can confirm I do work for a company providing storage and refurb solutions to the fleet industry. I’m not willing to say who on a public forum because of privacy.

And yes, I don’t mind sharing it with one person off line who is also in the industry.

In the industry? Are you referring to daemon who failed at selling cars and went back to IT?

Nobody rattled my cage. I'm sure you'd question it if I started spouting off about IT contracting and saying i'm in the industry when in reality I know very little about it. Cute that you jumped straight on the defensive and had to edit it twice to get in what you had to say though.

I didnt say i was in the industry, i said i'd worked in or around the industry for the last 25 years. Which i have. I dont trade much currently, however i still have access to the trade sites for the likes of Sytners and have kept a lot of my friends / contacts from the trade.

And how much do you know of the motor industry at what, 24 years old and working for someone elses dealership? Easy to think you're a hero when its someone elses money and someone elses cars you're driving.

And yes, of course i'm going to respond when someone misquotes the facts of the situation to try to look smart.

I'm very curious about this drip feed of ex lease cars theory.

I get the logic to a point, 1,000 Golf Rs come in one month but if they all go on the market it will depress it, so just release 200, keep prices up.

But what happens the second month when the next 1,000 turn up? Just release 200 again? Then the following month another 1,000...

I think I've discovered a flaw to the theory... scratchchin
