I love some of the carbon pieces you gave had fitted
Thank you. I felt that on what was a 100k car when new, they cut a few corners so in my mind just finishing the job they should have done in the first place. For example, the beautiful cabon front door panels do not carry on over into the rear, so when I had all the windows open it looked incomplete. Likewise in the rear, they removed the seats (good) but then proceeded to run cheap plastic all around where the seats used to be. Just didn't feel right to me. Oh and on the front door carbon panel, there is another thin strip of cheap plastic running along the top, again I couldn't fathom why they wouldn't have done that in carbon to match. Lagerlout said:
Returning that back to OEM one day would be a mission.... likewise another I have seen on youtube in Germany. At least we know that's two less of the 700 made to further the rarity value of the remaining. Actually there are a good number out here in the UAE that are in terrible condition, either completely not cared for or very badly and irreversibly modified. So that's probably another 15-20 off the list, many of which are the more desirable Euro carbon spec as well...406dogvan said:
From one of Matt Farah's videos I learned that not only does Chris Harris own one of these, he apparently paid a small fortune to someone to sort-out the gearshifts (generally the car's weakest link - the auto MB used at that point was a bit of a slushbox - certainly compared to a modern box)
So you might want to budget another 5-figure-sum to get that sorted too ;0
Nowhere near that much you can have the shift speed upgraded by the guys at Weistec I've had it done on my CLK63 it really makes a difference when in manual mode the rest of the time you're never really in the wrong gear.So you might want to budget another 5-figure-sum to get that sorted too ;0
It won't be MCT fast but it is quicker I've also fitted their torque converter which made a bigger difference & still nowhere near 5 figures.

Yes done the same. The rev matching auto blip on downshift and quicker shift response made a huge difference to the enjoyment of the car. Torque converter to come later but pleased to hear you say it makes another step forward. Something to look forward toIt won't be MCT fast but it is quicker I've also fitted their torque converter which made a bigger difference & still nowhere near 5 figures.

Love the wheels are those Vossens?
Ah thanks, I know switching out stock wheels can be a bit marmite in terms of opinions. They are Concavo 20", apparently developed especially for the car. The OEM wheels are spectacular though so will probably switch back in the long term. Here is their promo vid that got me hooked in:

I can see why you were swayed, here's the advert that made me purchase these Vertinis for my CLK63 (not a Black Series) I've bought Vertini & Stance alloys for every car I've owned.

I have no problem with changing the alloys it makes it your own, plus I haven't managed to leave a single car I've owned standard so it's a thumbs up from me.
