I digress. I finally pick mine up this weekend having been away for a while. It seems like deliveries have really picked up speed.

Are you in the South East area? Would be good to arrange a meet of some sort.
problem with forums is that the contributors represent a minority of the audience.
brand specific forums are smaller and also spend most of the time covering problems and mods. I fear RAOC could tumble into a discussion about trim coming loose.
So, it'll still be good to hear your ongoing views here please. This is probably the car of the decade.

I live near Buckingham. It would be good to meet up - I think there are perhaps 6-10 of us and surely all will have been delivered in the next week or so. Personally I'm happy to have an excuse to drive the car and get the running in over so don't mind going a fair way.

Alpine Europa cup is racing at Silverstone this weekend (1st/2nd September). Could be a good spot for an impromptu meet for you new owners. Nothing official planned.
We do have an Alpine track day at Croix En Ternois in France on the 15th Sept- details are on the RAOC forum for members.

I live just down the road from Silverstone so might be a possibility. Any more takers?

Alas not me. Won’t see the car again until next week as it is getting ppf/ ceramic done.

Know that feeling ... mine is awaiting ppf next week . Have you had a chance for a drive in it yet?

what time did you have in mind? It would only work if it was the afternoon for me.

I can do any time on Saturday - or Sunday afternoon. The Alpine races are 17:30 Saturday 15:15 Sunday.

Well picked mine up last night, first impressions

- engine spins freely and minimal turbo lag; does sound a bit 'diesely' at low revs though - decent gear change too
- really sharp throttle response in sport & track modes
- seats are comfortable - have fixed buckets in other cars and get on better with those than comfort seats - though my wife who is somewhat shorter than me initially hasn't found them too good; looks like the seat height adjustment is a special tool job though..
- Road noise not too bad - need to do some back to back, but probably similar to the Clio 172 Cup we're running - audio is good though
- Haven't ragged it yet, a gentler run in (though no running in instructions given) but handling indications are good on a few known back roads I found on the way home

So, initially positive, but time will tell - I'll post something more driver focused in a few days (well this is Pistonheads) - be interesting to see how it compares with the 987 Spyder....

Book says max 3500 revs for 1000k and don't exceed 130kph. And don't drive really hard until 3000k. I find it very hard to keep the revs down in Sport. Pretty frustrating.

Yes I managed about 150 miles or so in it. It was great- good at cruising on the motorway so easy to keep revs low. Leaving roundabouts/lights is more difficult as it just wants to rev so you have to be quite careful at take-off. Shame I cant take part in this impromptu meet at the weekend.

I'm heading down to Wales on 7/8th Sept if you fancy tagging along. It just a little tour rather than a thrash as I promised to do it with a friend a while back but never got round to it.

There are now 8 cars listed for sale on Pistonheads and a couple more different ones on Autotrader. Out of 100 ish cars that’s a lot being offloaded.
It’s a shame these cars can’t be sold directly to the people that want them rather than speculators.

As you say, disappointing - and doubtless some cars were bought by speculators. That said, given the interminable delays and the lack of communications from the factory and (to a significant extent as a result) the dealers, some have lost patience. And probably one or two have had a change of circumstances which forces sale on them. Given that relatively few have had a great "buying experience" it's hardly likely that they would want their dealers to take whatever further profit that might be made - as the dealers have already made a significant profit on the car

Picked mine up yesterday. Already confirmed my feelings from the test drive, I'm a child with a new toy. Have already had strangers congratulate me on my choice even though they don't know what it is, let alone how wonderful it really is.

My dealership (St Albans) told me I was number 10 in UK to be handed over - that was about 1.30 yesterday - surely not.....?

Happy to meet other owners, there must surely be a certain like-mindedness. I'm in Hertfordshire.

Those who went for a PE and were patient enough took the right decision, for sure.
Configuring a pure to a PE spec is a few K more;
If you consider when the first pure will be delivered, that was worth it going for a PE and enjoying asap.

I don’t think the number being offloaded is unusual. It was a limited run with a lot of press coverage. It is likely quite a few speculators got in on the act.

I almost sold mine as the buying experience had not been great. I had a word with Alpine at Le Mans and they let me into the stand to sit in the show car. That was the first time I’d been in it. I had seen it at FOS the previous year but was not allowed in it.

I’m glad I didn’t sell it as it is wonderful even when running it in. I just hope Alpine look after us with regards to aftersales.

There will be a flurry on sale now but I expect prices to firm in a few months. It doesn’t matter to me as I’ve bought this to drive, not sit in a garage as an investment.

Glad you are enjoying it but I think your dealer is spinning you a bit of a yarn. I think I was probably no.10 at my dealership alone- bcr collected the day before I did. I’d guess 40% must have been delivered to customers by now??

I’m Cambridge/suffolk borders so should be able to meet up soon. I’m intending to go on this PH rally in October although not sure I’ll do the timed section just yet!

I read somewhere said they all have to be registered by today so if there are 130 in total it does seem unlikely that only 10 registered so far.

What happens with the showroom cars are they going to be registered by today as well.
