Chaps, you have got to think like a billionaire, not a millionaire...you already have all the pretty HyperCars cars, it really doesn't matter what it looks like, this is your track car, for turning up a Spa, with a full support team and racing driver and then being about able to exploit 7/10th of the permanent and wipe the floor with everything else (10/10ths is for the racing driver when you are a passenger)...this is not your only car you trailer to Brans Hatch behind your jeep Cherokee...
If I had multi millions to spend on a track car, this wouldn't be it. To me it looks like a 720s that has been sent to Mansory to make it look 'better', though the rear wing is straight out of a Forza gameMcLaren are not stupid, though Honda deals in F1 and calling this car Senna might lead you to think otherwise.
This car is about one thing, speed. It needs to not only beat, but destroy everything else that is road legal. They have to be confident it can do that. 800 bhp in a car that weighs less than 1200kg and employs every aerodynamic trick McLaren knows is going to be damn quick and when it is it won't matter how it looks.
All that said, I think it was a mistake calling this car Senna.

Name aside for a moment I like it. It looks like it does for a single minded purpose although I accept others have done similar with better aesthetic results.
What I don't like is this seemingly conveyor belt approach to churning out one ltd edition after the next resulting in, for me at least, blurred lines between each 'new' model.
It's particularly poignant with Mclaren I think because the basic car/tub, all look the same to me and it's only the various addenda that distinguishes one model from another.
I also agree that they really need a new, halo engine (V10/12) in order to step up to the next level. They've really caned that V8 now.

Wrong. A billionaire will take a merc project 1 or Aston Valkyrie or Ferrari fxxk EVO etc before being seen dead in this hound of a thing. subirg said:

Still, if they have sold them all I doubt that McLaren will be too worried about the negative opinion of those that were never going to be able to buy one.
Not sure of the point of such cars. Compromised as a road car yet at the same time, unlikely to be as quick or fun as something built only for track use.

How many billionaires actually drive on tracks?samoht said:
Side profile view from Autocar:
I just don't understand the shape of the car. I mean, the 720S already had a ridiculous beak on it, but this is even more insane. They've taken the cab forward stance of a mid engined car, but then also got the long front end of a front engined car.It looks like the body has driven ahead of the wheels, it's like when someone cobbles a Ferrari kit on an MX5 or a Cobra kit on a Z3 or something. The wheelbase is just wrong for the body?!
