LDV Sherpas as run by the London Ambulance service in the early 2000s.

I lost count the number of times I turned expecting to see a TVR only to find the gorgeous V8 burble coming from a Rover powered Sherpa Ambulance.
The old LDV Customline Lazer. A friend used to drive them a long time ago. I recall him saying that you could power slide them quite well, and also if you were going along and turned the ignition off then back on again you could get them to make pops and bangs, scaring the c**p out of people at bus stops!

Road car out of the factory : TVR 4.3 pre cat. But let’s be honest any V8 exhaust is a thing of beauty!

Do you want to hear a rumble, or a scream ?

Me, I'll settle for an F1 scream - especially the 2.4-litre Cosworth CA V8 of 2006 - 2013, which loved to rev to 20,000rpm, and which produced up to 770bhp.

[It would have revved even higher if the FIA had not brought in an arbitrary rev limit in the later years.

Lucky enough to have a Maser Granturismo and I must say they sound epic with the valves open, an event to drive at 10mph.....then civilised with them closed. AMGs are a favourite also.

Almost any V8 sounds great and the two v8's I've heard in the last couple of days were both land rover. First a modified 90 pickup then this afternoon a slightly disheveled disco 2 and it must be a real oddity by being a manual version.
