My mate is consdering buying one to stick in the garage and keep with delivery mileage. Reckons it's a future £100k car....
He is a Ford Fanboi with a Mk1 and Mk2 RS already though so slightly biased.....
That is nuts - obviously he is doing it as an investment and wont be driving it. He should just put £37k in a FTSE100 tracker and make a far less risky £80,000 spread across different assets. Plus money will still be needed on maintenance/ insurance/ humidity control not even counted. He is a Ford Fanboi with a Mk1 and Mk2 RS already though so slightly biased.....
Boring, but not as boring as having a capable car to look at....

Just seems madness to me. Having it sitting there in the hope he could one day find another nutter like him to spunk a small fortune on it.

Yup it is indeed - quite entertaining to read though
Seems to happen every time I click on an RS thread though .... maybe a trend there

PH forums are getting sillier. Especially Rs threads.
Like kids arguing about whose dad is the hardest.
Be civil to each other please. You wouldn't be this rude to each other chatting in a pub surely.

I think the whole MK3 RS will be looked back upon as best forgotten.
Ford need to get a hold of the next one and produce something special rather than an unreliable, bloated hum drummer like the MK3.
Contrary to ALL the reviews. Obviously you are entitled to your own opinion even if it is wrong. Hum drum? Easily the best Focus ever made and far more exciting than the rest or indeed the competition.Ford need to get a hold of the next one and produce something special rather than an unreliable, bloated hum drummer like the MK3.
The engines going pop sucks a bit but if you have a read up it seems the replacements are heavily revised and best of all, FREE.
We get it, you hate these cars and like to ststir by making threads about them. How empty your life must be.
The rest of the RS hate squad arriving in 3.....2.....1.......

Aren't you yet another of those PH'er BMW apologist? My opinion is no more right or wrong than yours.

Perhaps you should not throw stones in glass houses with that sort of 'insightful' critque you have of certain motorcars.
Just looks like the crappy Zetec S Red edition they done a few years back especially with the black wheels.
It should have been Orange or Lime Green as they were the 2 best colours Ford have done on performance models.
Can’t believe they ever dropped the orange from the ST Range everyone loved it as it was so unusual. Especially considering they made the awful tangerine scream for the mk3 which just looks like a washed out faded orange

I’ve not red (sic) all of the previous comments but I’ll just ask ‘how much would it cost to have the normal RS Edition wrapped, in say...Ultimate Green, a la Focus RS MK2?
Or any other colour that takes one fancy (how about Plum Crazy, Sub Lime or Go Mango from 1970 model year Chrysler catalogue which would hit the RS down to the ground....)

It may be fun to drive, but the only iconic RS of the modern era is the MK2 and the whole engine issues situation is very troubling.Distorted and cracked blocks and heads, failing gaskets, this is worse than the Porsche engine problems.Of course they are replacing them for free, but has it been confirmed that the new ones are reliable?

Erm, does it?At that point it's an identical colour scheme!
