Listen i'm all for the Comeback of TVR, but really, 10sec of smartphone "footage" of the show car on a runway isn't really hitting the spot. No i don't want 10 min of slick, Holywood stylee marketing waffle about "joy" or "the journey" or whatever, but please, at least make a little bit of an effort next time. You've only got to see the standard of the amateur videographers on YouTube these days to see what's possible on a v small budget.
Also, i hardly think a few laps of Dunsfold qualifies as "testing". The OEMs are smashing out literally hundreds of miles of testing per day, across a fleets of hundreds of prototypes, across the globe, under all conditions and terrain. Come on guys, if you want to compete, try harder! With the EV revolution rolling in at an ever increasing rate, the new TVR has to be brilliant to survive, merely "good" isn't going to be enough imo.....
The potential customer base and clientele they are chasing won't be remotely Interested in EVs, so that's a moot point tbh. Also, i hardly think a few laps of Dunsfold qualifies as "testing". And at the same time, we will be gobsmacked by the staggering launches and effortless overtaking afforded by an electric powertrain. This will be a revolution of sorts. And we will feel a bit like adolescents.
We will also marvel at the packaging and form factors that an electric powertrain allows, given its minimal and tidy use of space.
Making a brief stop at a petrol station -- to pick up something from the shop -- might bring a knowing smile to one's face. "Hang on a minute. I haven't lifted a pump handle in ages."

Bizarre video, and bizarre that it makes a story on PH!
Not really. PH started as a TVR forum. Although things have changed over the years, it's nice to see PH not losing sight of it's roots. A new TVR on this site is bigger news than EVs, supercars, the latest models of boring German premiumness..etc. It looks great on the move, sounds good too. Yes! that would be more like TVR's style...give us a power slide video soon...
I must admit I'm disappointed with the noise too(sounds way too quiet), but I suppose it's to be expected with a modern TVR though in fairness...with all the current rules and regulations having to be adhered to.
It does make you appreciate the older TVR's even more though...so every cloud and all that, the noise TVR's used to make was always the biggest draw for me.

I dare say there'll be a thriving market for aftermarket bits 'n bobs to make these sound (and possibly look) better if they take off (I do hope they do, I'd love to see TVR back on the road and the track, British GT?), after all, as has just been said, car makers have to adhere to sound regs these days.
They need to put a valve on that exhaust to get it around the noise regs. Can’t wait to see more of this car!

McLaren used Dunsfold a lot for their testing. When I was working on a formula student car we had one end of the airfield, they had the main part of the airfield and top gear had the other end. Also, i hardly think a few laps of Dunsfold qualifies as "testing". The hate on this thread is awful.
I have been fortunate to have see the TVR up close and personal. It's a great design..very muscular and without simply copying TVRs of old..
It also has proper build integrity and looks and feels like a properly built as opposed to kit car.

I can't believe that is the best clip TVR can get from a day on the Top Gear circuit. The car is no longer a secret. Give us some proper clips please TVR!
I have a 5k deposit down and am still waiting to see the car. I couldn't make Goodwood and TVR didn't tell me about the London Olympia event (which seemed to be just for press). My patience is feeling tested..
And to those saying give TVR a break, I've really tried to and want to see the car in the flesh in the hope that its better looking than the photos.

And?? seeing a car in the flesh means nothing. It's all about making judgements by photo's and smartphone video's these days, who needs to see a car in real life anyways..... Have you seen it in the flesh and/or driven it?
I watched the reveal on the internet on the Friday at Goodwood. My excitement was off the scale. But. I was so underwhelmed I thought I better go down and see it in the flesh immediately. Next morning, first thing, I went in to see it...and was really, really disappointed. Even more so. On the plus side, I am not one bit unhappy I got my deposit back.
I really do wish TVR all the best but I won’t be adding a Les Edgar iteration for the time being.
