I've had two of those. Still want an Espada but I think beyond my means now.

About 30 years ago I turned down an Espada because it needed the dashboard putting back in.

The seller was asking £2,000.

Absolutely love the Espada, the one Harry Metcalfe had was rather lovely too. I remember when they were <£50k!
I recall seeing one for £12k 20 years ago or so. Don’t think it was anywhere near a basket case but may have misremembered the price / condition. Either way I remember thinking the asking price wasn’t worth it and it’d be a money pit!

Wonderful cars.

When I was growing up in the late 1970s in Wolstanton, near Newcastle under Lyme, there was a local backstreet builder who had a metallic blue one as his daily driver (that's true, I haven't gone mad!).

Love the Espada. Here's me hoping that Harry makes a few more videos with his S2, it's a fabulously bonkers car, well worth a watch on his channel for those who haven't seen it.

£245k!!!! I remember being 9 years old and trying to persuade my Dad to get one of these as they were less money than a 3 year old Ford Sierra.

Can't think of a car for which the phrase 'photos really don't do it justice' is more apt. They look incredible in the flesh.

I'd forgotten about that. Much better than the Uterus, but I'm sure that'll be the better money maker.

One of my favourite cars of all time.

I bought a Corvette C4 back in the 90s and was blown away by having a real V8 sports car. When it came to picking it up, it was parked next to a white Espada and the Corvette suddenly seemed very ordinary.

Best in this blue though.

They are fabulous things and somehow incredibly hard to photograph well - you seem to have picked exactly the right angle there, though; nice pic!

I loved mine, probably the most spectacular car I've owned in terms of looks and sound. Had it for about five years, used it a lot, loved it, sold it for ooooh less than five percent of the asking for this one in 2000/2001 or so
I'd dearly like another.

I remember being on a camp site in Madrid when touring in the summer of 1970 in my Sprite. A family turned up in an Espada, unloaded all their camping gear , pitched a tent and proceeded to cook dinner. I was greatly impressed.

This example is the owner's daily driver...!

To me they're the personification of a 'Gerry Anderson' car made real...

Harry's at the NEC last month...

Jay Leno's is beautiful...

...and it would rev to about 8,000 rpm with no bother. It must have been like a space ship when it was new

1969 Pontiac GTO had 366, albeit from an extra 2.5 litres.

I think they're hard to photo from some angles because from some angles they are a bit dodgy. There is something very cool, unique and elegant about them but then there is that big three quarters thing going on with the wheels half buried in their arches as if the suspension has broken. And just now and then, from certain angles they can look a bit clumsy and ungainly. .

The thing is if they did make it, it would look a lot more conservative than that which is a shame! That looks stunning

If they made it now it would just be a panamera with a different body and probably even have a Diesel variant
