Nope, the joke is on you if you don't get it. Much rather have a Kia than some of the carp the germans are producing right now. You just have to part with your badge snobbery and look at the products objectively
Looks like you will be buying the Mclaren factory if these go well Rambo...

its not a great drivers car. its ok. the fact thats its a kia people seem to think gets it extra credits as a 'driver's' car. and thats the top spec. the lesser specs are gash, but everyone conveniently ignores that. what cars i have is irrelevant, Ive driven good cars and bad cars. none you've mentioned though.

in what possible way is the stinger miles ahead of vauxhall or ford in similar priced vehicles? (appreciate there's no like for like but lets say insignia/mondeo for comparisons sake as they p all over the awful optima)

interior quality, fit and finish? nope, similar.
handling? nope
power? ok you have that
build quality? we dont know.
warranty? i wish you well in getting them to claim anything isnt just normal wear and tear and not covered.
You've made your mind up! And made me chuckle at the sheer bloody-minded determinedness to dislike something, Well done! In a legion of imbeciles with sufficiently opposable thumbs that make typing easy, you're my favourite, even beating the noble Yipper. I am not going to argue with you because it would be pointless. You have your no-doubt extensively researched opinion and I have mine. I don't think I would be quite so trenchantly opposed to something like this though. I might reserve my ire for for really stultifying abominations - wayward cyclists or the unassailable rise of the SUV perhaps.

ooo i have a stalker!

ive never compared it to my any of my cars, and never said alfa's quality is good. its not. its lacking. i don't pretend or claim otherwise though.

guess i will have to use the picanto then (yes i have brand experience, we needed a white good, we got one).or any of the other cars we have, if your that interested do you research. go buy your ok'ish embarrassment mobile!

anyway im done for the day, you've been a good sport and provided decent entertainment. home time, i will be back at 9am tomorrow when i imagine the office will be even deader than today.

i might check this out on the train though unless there an evening standard today, but i fear there isn't.

Excellent piece with a range of writers commenting a single theme. I regret missing any such PH articles in the past, and I hope that the next time I happen to notice won't be 12 months from now.

If not superfluous, I'll add that...

The ZL1 with 1LE Track Package is, to me, a feat of both engineering and product management. It's not from the small and sprightly school of post-War sports cars. Rather, there's something indomitable and just a little bit preposterous about it. Like something unveiled by the Pentagon.

Yet it's also a daily driver with manners, mod cons, two (if you must) rear seats and a boot.

One of the US magazines reckon that "it's the greatest track car GM has ever made."

The only one that interests me is that Camaro.
It is mega.

The only downside is that a traditional muscle car was always something of an underdog and it's more expensive and less actual "fun" when they start becoming incredibly good. That wasn't in the plan.

I'd also like a Cadillac CTS-V.

I would love for this to happen, as the culture of Mustang has only been enriched by ex-US owners and, in particular, by fans in the UK and Australia.

But, sadly, the maths will prove unhelpful.

The likes of Camaro, Charger, and Mustang were created for a market with low on-the-road costs, low fuel costs, and a large middle class with a high disposable income. Australia comes closest to this and, indeed, the Australian market buys nearly as many Mustangs per capita as the American.

Ford was brilliant (and brave) with its decision to take Mustang global. For all but a handful of countries, however, this is almost certainly more of a corporate campaign than the pursuit of a business case. To make the sums sustainable, Ford removed from the international Mustang basic kit that is standard in the US models. And neither the full Mustang range nor the full range of options is offered abroad.

In a good year, Corvette can achieve 3,000 units sold, on average, per month. In lesser years, sales are as few as 1,000 units monthly. Probably 98 percent of those figures are US and Canada.

From time to time, GM makes noises about Corvette barely achieving its business case. And this is why, most likely, the next generation of Corvette, the mid-engined C8, will move the brand further upmarket -- where it can command higher prices, greater margin and a sustainable business case both within the US and globally. At relatively low sales numbers.

Drove the Kia Stinger the other day. The car is a good car full stop. Hugely practical, super comfy, kinda sexy, and all the performance you need really. I absolutely love the badge snobbery. It’s forcing my local Kia sell at a significant price cut. It’s just too good of a deal to pass by. Unlike the states where Kia is quite well known my country, mine is selling the GT2 fully loaded package for the price of the base GT. 365hp, RWD, LSD, Nappa leather, CarPlay, 19in rims, headsup display, power seats, tailgate, etc for the price of a Bmw 320i still with 16in wheels and no options.

My car will be here in March smile

Not usually a big fan of american stuff but this car looks flat out amazing. If they sold it here and I could afford it I would seriously consider it. Highly recommend this video review:

The rather sad fact is that Porsche have pulled the diesel Panamera from the range. After all the plaudits when it was launched it rapidly turned into the car you cannot buy. I wonder if the few used versions available from Porsche dealers will acquire rarity value ... ?

most are. thats human nature. many say they don't care what others think. but by peoples very nature they do. otherwise we would all pig out walk around in burlap sacks weighing 20 stone, defecating openly etc.

Doubt it took much stalking to work out you have an Alfa. You’d mentioned it when you were comparing your Alfa to the stinger.

Congrats on buying what you want rather than something with a ‘badge’ just so that Mr Jones at no.42 thinks you’re doing well.

(no offence to any Mr Jones’ or people that live at no.42)
