Focus RS Broke down - fuming with Ford!
Discussion
Hi all,
Can't believe it, I bought a Focus RS and it broke down already. Thing is I got it second hand so I can't really go back to the first bloke can I and start shouting the odds, nor do Ford want to know unless I fork out major £££ to sort this out. Why isn't it free if they put something on the road that don't work. Anyone got any ideas? I can't believe it this is totally doing my nut in!!!! I won't buy a Ford again nor do I advocate anyone else does so either tbh it's been a nightmare.
Can anyone recommend if I'm able to force teh original bloke to take the car back if it breaks down so quick, I didn't know Fords have a problem with the engines until now where I see videos on youtube where they show that EVERY RS is going to blow up sooner or later and feel like I've been conned. Can't find anything online.
Thanks.

Did you buy it privately? (i assume so but want to make sure)Can't believe it, I bought a Focus RS and it broke down already. Age, miles, description of problem?
Assuming you bought private, you'll have little comeback UNLESS you can prove the buyer knew about it but didnt disclose the fault.
Is there anything showing up on the Ford maintenance history (any Ford dealer should be able to look it up) -for example, was it in with the sellers local dealer the week before for the issue?
Was it DEFINITELY a private sale? OR someone "selling it for a friend"?
I'm betting that Ford are saying it either isn't covered under warranty so needs to be paid for or they need to be paid for diagnosis.
If the ££££ you refer to is for diagnosis, of course you need to pay for them to investigate so they can confirm what the problem is.
If it's not covered under warranty, why should they contribute? You didn't buy it from them.
