You could almost have a 530i and a 540i for the price of the B5, and I guarantee you wouldn't notice the difference for 95% of the time.
Somebody else might not notice the difference 95% of the time, but 'you'd know you're in a very different & special thing' every time you got in it.Polynesian said:
love the bit in the article about a discount being easier to achieve on this compared to an M/ AMG etc. Good luck with that!
Exactly. Sytner would laugh at you asking for a discount on an Alpina.Chestrockwell said:

See autotrader. Sytners have a green touring for 108k.
They’re charging a huge mark up, 108 grand with 5k miles, they’re having a laugh aren’t they, who’s going to pay a huge mark up on a fast estate to save 3 months.I thought dealers weren’t allowed to flip cars!

It's also got horrible decals on the front splitter alike it's the 1980s.
You can order without the front splitter / side decals. If Sir should want them they can be had in silver or gold. DanS said:

It’s also not a premium, that will be list for that car with options.
PS it’s very, very good. Astonishingly fast, the 4ws disguises the bulk brilliantly and that engine just pulls and pulls.

The guarantee you offer is nonsense. An Alpina is so much than just the power and speed. Having owned a variety of BMW's, M cars and Alpina's I can say the only people who wouldn't notice the difference are those who care absolutely nothing about cars whatsoever.Jump from your 525d Touring into the supercharged B5 Touring of the day and perhaps re-think your notion and guarantee.

Thankyou for your courteous and well-considered response.Jump from your 525d Touring into the supercharged B5 Touring of the day and perhaps re-think your notion and guarantee.
The 525d is no more, but don't let that stop you from your patronising sneer.
Your postulate that "the only people who wouldn't notice the difference are those who care absolutely nothing about cars whatsoever" is largely drivel.

It really is the ultimate estate, And for 108k with a huge spec probably is fair if it’s brand new with 0 miles, however, for 108 with 5k on the clock, I don’t see how anybody would pay that!
Who am I anyway to judge it’s just an observation, they’ll probably sell it to someone with more money than sense

Well the advert said there won’t be another B5 in the UK until March 2018 so I based it on that!

My quote came to about £97K so I suppose it's not unreasonable a mark-up for the 'must have it now' brigade. It really is the ultimate estate, And for 108k with a huge spec probably is fair if it’s brand new with 0 miles, however, for 108 with 5k on the clock, I don’t see how anybody would pay that!

What it actually goes for, only time will tell.

Man maths says the Ferrari FF starts at £120k, thats's a 4wd estate (kind of) with a V12. I'm sure the better residual values would pay back the higher initial up-front cost ;-) And you'd have a nat-asp V12 to listen to !
The FF starts at about £225k new. A 2012 car with 31k miles can be had for £135k.Black S2K said:

Again, unlikely to be a mark-up. We don't know what the full list new of this car is.You can spend £128,385 on one of these new.
