I'm 26, and I went to look at a Jag XE-S at Duckworth Jaguar near Boston yeaterday. All my friends around age group don't see them as old mans cars, they think it's a pretty cool alternative to the usual Audis/BMWs they drive.

Asked her *why* she thinks that.
Yeah she says their styling the colours and interiors look old manish and she’s only seen oldies drive them

Jags defo still attract the Viagra crowd.

Saw an F-Type SVR this morning and the old boy musta bin well into his 50s or 60s.

The F-Pace is starting to bring down the average owner age. Plenty of middle managers in their 40s now starting to buy / lease / companycar them.
You don’t see lots of 50-60 year olds in any other car?
Porsche, Merc, Aston even?

Thanks.

My mrs doesn’t like my F-Type, mostly the colour and size I think, but she can’t stand hot hatches - Focus RS, VW Golf etc - she thinks they’re a chav car and anyone over mid twenties looks a dick in them!

I guess it’s just peoples perception, and once a tag sticks it takes a while for it to disappear.

I'm 24 and considering buying an S Type R at the moment. Always loved Jags and getting mighty tempted right now! Couldn't care less about the 'old man' image (as the previous owner of a hairdresser's MX5 tongue out)

I had a double six when I was 19 and an XKR when 30. My father used race Jags in the 50s and 60s and my mother and father both drove them in my childhood. As did my grandfather.

I think the new Jags are lovely cars. My wife (Italian) is always wanting me to buy another. She considers them to be the English Maserati but with more luxurious interiors.

I have to work quite hard to not buy one. The supercharged XK estate is very tempting.

As others have said they’ve invested very heavily to get rid of the old man image they acquired in the late 70s to when TATA saved them, which they’ve clearly achieved. However, like every single manufacturer with near £100k cars on their books the largest demographic in the West with the money to buy them is the over 60s.

I'm 29 and the people I know of that are an age with me think the same, I think that the XE, F Type and F Pace have helped their image quite a bit, with the younger crowd anyway

My dad has an XF... he’s 62. hehe

It’s actually a very nice car and ended an unbroken line of Fords going nearly 30 years.
He loves it for its ride, comfort and having a 3.0 Diesel so it’s got some decent grunt.

The Saloons and Estates - i would say so.

The Coupes, Convertibles and SUV not so much.

Jag are trying very hard to attract the younger buyer currently...although it's the reliability they should focus on in all fairness for me. getmecoat

JLR are too pipe and slippers for me at present.

This anecdotally proves the point when someone in their mid 50’s thinks Jags are a bit too old man

The problem with Jags, rightly or wrongly, is also the image you present to others. At the moment if you are interested in credibility of any kind with people who don't drive Jags they are best avoided. Almost socially unacceptable around here I'm afraid (Manchester BYA).
