I've had F56 Mini JCWs since 2008, direct from the factory. Sold first one to a dealer who paid me a good price with no trade in (I had another on order direct from the factory). Dealer gave me the usual bit about it would be hard to sell but I didn't back down.
Went back there the next day and asked where my Mini was, were they cleaning it up or something? They'd sold it the same day!

Got the new one from the factory, last one with the old type engine (I like it, goes like stink and still does five and half years on!) - this was it in the Cowley car park prior to final inspections and just before I got it. Everyone seemed to be choosing JCWs in black/red roof. Pah, give me a white/red roof, no bonnet stripes (hate 'em).

The new Mini doesn't appeal. Anyway, you can't compare it to the old cars, it is a completely different car, different everywhere, totally new. Mind you, I have been in the new JCW and it does go but then it should, it's a 2 litre unit compared to my 1.6.
I'd still give it run for its money! In fact, it gives a lot of motors a run for their money. biggrin

The first gen MINI was just so right in terms of design and still looks fresh today.
Liked a drink though, and the trim squeaked like a frustrated teenager on a spring bed.
Can vouch for that but in 'S' form with the Supercharger they just have so much character that unless you're doing mega miles you don't begrudge the mid 20's mpg.
Exactly this - i've just today sold my 54 plate Cooper S as i needed a bigger car for the kids.

Mine was on Kumho Ecsta Sport LE tyres, so no runflats, had a twin 3" stainless cat back exhaust and it popped everywhere.

Trundling around i averaged 24.1mpg, thrashing it i averaged 23.1mpg so there was no incentive to trundle. smile

Just good, simple fun - exactly how my original Cooper was that i had 23 years ago!

I think, for the five door, BMW should have resurrected the name, Maxi...

I bought a new Mini Cooper S about three weeks ago and the dealership never mentioned a face lift. Nice of them. Mildly annoying but then again it looks worse with the face lift beerbeer

ps their customer satisfaction survey is sitting in my inbox. May fill it out now.
News of the impending facelift has been available on the web for months - and I started this thread last July.

I find it infuriating and unreasonable that current Mini does not have Realtime Traffic Information despite the fact it has exactly the same nav system as my 5 Series does. All of the connected drive stuff in the Mini is fairly rubbish and I don't get why. It's the same kit as the BMW?!
The 5 series has a different telematics module to the MINI, hence you won't be able to get RTTI or some of the other Connected drive services on your MINI. As of the LCI launch it's now possible to have this.

There is that exact car (colour combo) on my road but annoyingly the owner drives it everywhere at 20mph with not even a hint of throttle so I never get to hear any pops or bangs from the fruity exhaust frown

More faux patriotism for the Carling (Canadian lager) drinkers.
Great to have the jobs. Better, in addition, to own the company, IP and keep the profits in the UK. Sadly we have a culture of flogging off everything to those outside the UK who actually appreciate what we do. If ARM, for example, were a US, German or French company it would never been sold to a foreign company.

Called the dealer today and ordered my wife’s new MINI JCW.
Arrives April. This will be her 16th new MINI. Sad I know, I just can’t get her out of them.
So, will that be an order for this new facelift model or just the current model?

Anyone want a 66 plate JCW with 7,000 miles on the clock ?
Red with a black roof. Lots of extras inc Bluetooth exhaust, spotlamps, Nav, heads up display, Harmon Karon sounds system, front and rear park control with Reverse camera, 3years free servicing. 18” Wheels, unrated interior with red colour line and piano black finishers, chrome line interior, bonnet stripes.
16th! Is that one a year or thereabouts? Ouch.
Is that on some type of lease/cc scheme?

Can’t imagine the net cash loss in depreciation if not. £5-10k per car per year?

Because they didn't know - they don't tell the dealers until the press release comes out.

This information leaked in September anyway, so it was easily findable online that there would be an LCI from March production.

We took delivery of a new Mini last weekend - but we ordered in October after finding the details of the facelift and deciding it wasn't worth waiting for. The only thing I'm dissapointed about is the revised navigation, I find it infuriating and unreasonable that current Mini does not have Realtime Traffic Information despite the fact it has exactly the same nav system as my 5 Series does. Ah right that would make sense.

Clown's lights or not expect it'll still sell by the shed load.

I'm more interested in the fact that this is BMW's first transverse DCT gearbox.
This will find its way into the new gen 1 & 2 series models.

It's quite common for bmw to release new tech into an existing model to help
Iron out the creases.

Let's hope it's a good gearbox straight out of the crate.

No lease or finance. The earlier JCW models I could buy run for 8 or 9 months and sell for a small profit. All her minis have been Cooper S or JCW. hatch or convertible. With a GP2 (best one of all)

Saw these in person at the NEC Autosport show this weekend. They don't like quite as offensive in the flesh but still a bit questionable. I wonder whether they will be standard on all models though, as I remembered the current F56 has a couple of different rear light styles depending on spec scratchchin

I suppose this would have the pretty notable distinction of annoying both the flag apologists, embarrassed by the whole tacky approach, and the Brexity fundamentalists who usually go apest over such insults to our great country, the Queen etc.

Quite an achievement, or brilliant trolling by BMW?
Looks like the incorrect union flag design on the left hand rear light has been fixed.
