When you feel comfortable with it I`d thoroughly recommend a Komotec 430 upgrade...gives the car a very worthwhile extra kick and improves economy!
That's for the regular (non-charge cooled) Evora isn't it? Komo-tec kit for the 400 is 460bhp which would have me worried about engine bottom-end longevity. Can't say I'll be upgrading it, its for road use and 400bhp will suit me just fine.

I'd of expected ohlins dampers with the base price being near £90k
still it's so much more of a drivers car than the base 911, would prefer a GT car though or possibly a turbo for a daily

No, they do a 430hp re-map for the Evora 400...and yes it will not be for many due to potential loss of warranty etc. There is also the 460 upgrade for either version of the car which would potentially be impressive, but I think the 430 suits the character and balance of the car better.

The stock engines are supposed to be good and well proven at 500hp (assuming they can be cooled adequately)...the limitation is the torque the gearbox can handle. Realistically however unless one is a complete numpty the gearbox will be fine with normal and spirited use. If you treat the car like you are on Santa Pod all daylong then probably not. Anyhow, the 430 upgrade just feels like the top end torque is available all the way through the rev band making it much more flexible.

They've clearly just done the GT410 Sport by stripping a few of the expensive bits off the GT430 Sport though, and those dampers are one of the big ticket items.

Speaking with the guys at Hofmanns when I picked mine up they suggested the 400 had slightly better ride, the GT430 Sport a bit stiffer, so for some the 400 setup on it is probably preferable.

Fair enough. I'm still running mine in, so not played with the top-end of it yet. It seems a very flexible engine though, immediate throttle response and can't wait to hear it scream high revs.

Can't see it on their website, but good to know if they are offering that.

Well those pics are a danger to my bank balance!

Chrome orange is my favourite colour for these, what interior did you go for?

Black alcantara interior - I'd probably have gone with black leather personally, but it was an unregistered car Hofmanns had got in which was going to be their dealer demo, but snapped it up as it was very close to my ideal spec and a good saving vs. a custom order.

Its actually Metallic Orange, apparently slightly different to the old Chrome Orange.

I love the leather/alcantara option, to my eyes it looks just that bit more special than just leather.

Forged wheel option and then you'd have my perfect spec 400!

I'm considering only a few cars because for my tastes, there aren't many options for sports cars at this price point.

991 carerra S comes in at circa £100k with the options it needs. Also there's no real discount available.

F Type R comes in at circa £95k with options. Discount certainly available, however depreciation will be fairly heavy. (I've had 3 x XKR so I'm keen to avoid such heavy depreciation)

GT410 sport looks like my ideal Evora, nice
seats, back seats (for my 3 year old) and the cool
carbon rear hatch. Is it worth the big premium over the 400 though? I don't think it is....
