Are LR Velars selling?

I think the RRS and the Disco Sport are robably the best looking in the range.
I think Disco Sport probably the best. The trouble with the RRS and full-fat Disco is that they are so heavy. I was reminded of this riding as a passenger in a friend's RRS - the way it went into corners, you can just feel the weight (it wasn't the way she was driving) and it immediately brought to mind the two Discovery 3's I owned. The Disco Sport and Evoque are much, much more nimble and IMHO far nice both on and off road.

It wasn't on sale in Q1 for FY2018 so not representative.
Q4 2018FY results below (approx 11% JLR Global Sales)The only problem I have with the Discovery Sport is the name. It doesn't feel like either. I'm not saying it should have been called a Freelander but does more suit IMO.
Do you think LR could squeeze out another Range Rover version? A road biased Range Road Rover or a 6 wheeler Range Rover pick-up ??

There is a Road Rover on its way. Allegedly https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/new-ro...
Velar just looks utterly awful from every angle. Ditto Discovery, though that dark green/black combo at Bramley has a certain something, the tailgate mod might make it palatable. Evoque horrid, massively overweight and now very long in the tooth. XE and XF dull and dreary. What are JLR doing?!
TBH they should just have kept the Disco 4 in production to carry on selling to farmers, humanitarians etc, even if it meant moving production to Slovakia or India like they're doing with the new Disco (at which point the last conceivable reason for buying one of the latter evaporates).

I believe the Velar is based on the new-ish Jag aluminium platform, so should be pretty good.
I think it's pretty much similar to the Jaguar F-Pace.Mrs Digga had a Land Rover Experience day free from her latest purchase, so out of interest - since over the years we've done them in just about everything else - we'll try a Velar...
