Rare versions of common cars

My current Jag XFR is rare I suppose.
It's a Stratstone Le Mans special edition. Only 50 were made, 25 black & 25 white.
They came with a few alterations but the best is the Quicksilver exhaust fitted as standard. The sound is glorious. As is the performance.

What were the differences, other than the exhaust?

Both our dailys are relatively rare versions of very common models;
BMW 130i
Audi A4 1.8T Quattro (b7)
A friend bought a 1.8T B7. Nice car but quite underwhelming, and very heavy on the juice.BMW 130i

The 3 litre 200bhp V6 Mk3 Mondeo ( not the ST220 )
They didn't sell many ( far outnumbered by the ST220 )
That's because they were 2.5 litre and I think they sold about the same as the ST220 as you could have it in 3 different models, Zetec S, Ghia and Ghia X.They didn't sell many ( far outnumbered by the ST220 )
3 Litre V6 was ST220 only.

The 3 litre V6 versions that weren't ST220s were about 200bhp ( rather than the 217bhp of the ST220 )
If you look at my original post further up I've posted an example for you
Anyway, here's another in Ghia X trim to show you it wasn't a one-off

I'd like to nominate my current car - A Mondeo Estate, but the 2.0T 204ps version - they only made it in a short window before the 240ps version was released. When I was looking through the classifieds, only 2 were for sale.
Lovely car but not without its flaws, which warms me to it.
I was going to nominate mine... The Mondeo Estate 2.5T... but it's positively common in comparison to the 2.0T 204PS version!Lovely car but not without its flaws, which warms me to it.
Renault produced a Laguna (mk3) hatch and estate with the 3.5 Nissan V6 as found in the coupé.
It was present in France only on one pricelist, that means 3 months max, and was available in Dynamique or Initiale.
I've only ever seen one in the classifieds, in Switzerland, an estate in the lower trim Dynamique.
What kind of business sense that was supposed to make I don't know.
But as a rare version of a common car, it is unbeatable.

I used to sell the fking things as well. That must have been a run out model as I left Ford before they facelifted the Mondeo but after the ST220.
Interesting.

Now I know that PH is known for people being contrary for the sake of it, but come on, there is nothing at all wrong with that car. I know looks are subjective but really? Charlie Michael said:

To continue the above thread, there was also the Mk 2 ST200. 2.5 V6 with extrusion honed inlet manifolds, different cams, high flow primary catalysts, new map etc. Usually in imperial blue. There are quite a few 3.0 V6 non-STs around, they regularly pop up in the Auto Trader search. There is a 3.0 Tit X (201ps) estate near here up for sale, 25k miles,£4750. MOT history backs up the low miles, but 10+ years old so, eh, yeah.

https://www.ebay.de/itm/VW-Golf-2-Country-Cabrio-B...
The text reads:
The Biagini Passo is a crossover convertible of the Italian carmaker ACM, which was produced only about 65 times between 1990 and 1993.
Technically speaking, it is almost completely a Volkswagen, as ACM has simply connected the slightly modified body of the VW Golf I Convertible via a self-made subframe with the technology of the Golf II Country. However, ACM has changed the front and rear significantly. The front fenders and bonnet are a Biagini own production and no longer available, since the company ACM was closed at the end of production for financial reasons.
ACM has been used in part by other manufacturers, the headlights come with turn signals from the Fiat Panda the years 1980 to 1985, the rear lights are from the Opel Kadett D sedan of the year 1983 and the side indicators are from the Fiat Ritmo, also built in 1983. In the rear is no longer the small luggage hatch, but a large flap that opens down. The rear window in the hood can be folded up separately.
The hood frame is a modified Golf I Convertible component with the original gaskets. The rear window is because of the quite practical change of the tailgate no longer made in glass, but it is a PVC folding disc sewn. The dashboard also comes from the Golf 1 but has been fitted with a handle bar that extends to the passenger side.
The vehicles were only sold in very small numbers via isolated VW dealers in Germany.
