Not sure about the nos, but I had one.

£20K new from memory? I paid £12K, 60 miles, they could not offload them.

217BHP my arse! smile

It was a scratch that had to be itched at the time.

I would LOVE a 135i or 140i saloon!
What, even as FWD like this one? I'm not too hot about the looks, but it's the drivetrain that has killed any appeal for me
Have you driven 1?

It was a 78bhp 1.8.

Think you're remembering it through rose tinted specs.
I'm pretty sure the 205 STDT had the 1.9TD lump in it.
The STDT was definitely a 1.8. I also think the D-turbo was a rarer model than the STDT. It was also the first diesel hot hatch.

I've owned a few of the cars on this thread.

yep, definitely a 1.8 in the STDT

If you had the 309 GRDT it was the same engine with an intercooler on and an extra 10bhp - they shifted well

Again? I haven't tried heroin either, not interested. It's an opinion after all, it's a car which has lost its USP against the competition, in my narrow minded view. (I have a 2 series at the moment - wife's car - and it's great. Won't be buying the next version for this fundamental change).

Not that anyone cares how it drives really, it will sell as FWD on the badge alone like most other appliances do. Some enthusiasts will be disappointed.

A few years ago I had a facelift vectra gsi. Had it’s MSD plaque on the slam panel, not too rare I know but this specific car had a factory satnav installed. A bad turn by turn dial type thing, down in the centre console where most have an ashtray drawer thing. Out of all the vectras I looked at when buying, it was the only one I found with that satnav, and the only one I’ve saw to date with it.

I had a compressor last year, I quite liked it. I did a trackday in it and had no problem keeping up with a Seat cupra r thingy, well on the straights at least. I believe the Seat are 220bhp.

I've got a Megane R26 now which is faster in every way, but it may have been chipped.

Safrane Biturbo anyone?

One of my neighbours once had a Safrane. Not a Biturbo, but I was surprised to find a Volvo 5-cylinder 2.5 20V under the bonnet.

I don't know if I'm playing this game right, but going to throw one of mine in as a candidate:

Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato TR-XX R4.

God knows how many L500 series Miras the Daihatsu factory kicked out in total, but there were only 80 of these AWD turbo ones sold in the UK.

Back in the late 1980s I had a work colleague who used to borrow her Mum's Renault 18 Turbo - they were pretty rare, but pretty quick for the day!

It's very much one of those cars that feels about twice as fast as it really is! Great fun, but not the slightest threat to anything actually "performance" biased.
