Isn't that the car that was allegedly ordered as an automatic but arrived in error as a manual? The dealer ended up registering it as a demo?

Interestingly, SC08ZHP was a cancelled customer order after the BMW dealer (Harry Fairbairn) specced it thinking the 550i was auto only. Therefore no automatic gearbox option was ticked, and it arrived as a manual.

The customer didn't want a manual one, cancelled the order, and a lot of money was lost reducing this to a price they could find a buyer for it at.
Yes, it is. yes
Even with that terrible colour I would have that if it had been a Touring. You can understand why if there were only 3 sold in the UK why they dropped the manual option for the later cars. Equally however the lack of a manual option is why BMW (and a number of others) are off my possibility list for my next car. frown

So many "common" cars with a few extra bits, I think we all need to sleep now.

I'm sure those wheels are from a 7 series. I've never seen a 5 with them.
They were an option:
Style 152
8Jx18

Also available on the E90 (Individual).

Sleep? It's only 15:45 - time for (late) afternoon tea.

According to HowManyLeft, so far Honda have sold 375 FK8 Civic Type Rs, and only 4 are the base model without GT pack.

Don't know what the official numbers are but any petrol version of an Audi Allroad is pretty rare.

According to Autotrader for the A6 allroad there are about 225 for sale, 2 are petrol and for the A4 allroad there are about 240 or sale with 11 being petrol.

C5 was 2.7T and 4.2.

C6 was 4.2-only petrol-wise (IIRC):

I loved my allroad although it was just the 2.7TDi, great car the ride was superb on 17" and air suspension, underrated cars IMHO.

The A4 Allroad comes with a 2.0tfsi which I thought would have made up more than 5% of sales

E87 130i SE?

BMW only made about 80 of them around 2006. After that the 130i was only available as an M-sport.

I'm biased, but i like the Q-car look of them.

No no and no.
Yes, yes and yes. hehe

Only 80, wow when you think of all the 1 series on the road that makes this a seriously unpopular choice.

Switzerland is the Mecca for such cars. I’ve had a quick look on autoscout24.ch, fancy a Thema 8.32? There’s 8 for sale. Or a Passat W8? A bit rarer, only 7 of those to chose from.

among other oddities, seat made a Mk1 Leon just for the Swiss market, a supercharged version of the 2.8 cupra 4.

Ooh! Didn't know about that one. Wonder how many are left??
Doubt they will be listed anywhere.

They would have been created by a dealer for the radio station & would most likely be registered just as 205 GTI’s.

I worked for a Ford dealer in the 80’s & we did various ‘specials’ to shift old stock, upgraded wheels, stereos etc. Stuff we could retrofit & gave them different names but they would not have had those names on the V5, just whatever the model denomination originally was GL, Ghia etc.

Scala’s and GTX versions (had both) were injection, GTII and GTS were carb.
There's 3 "versions" of a Scala

Early one's are 1.8 carb & had seats that were colour coded

Then they got 1.8 injection engines (somewhere during F reg)

Then later on they did away with the colour coded seats and put "tartan ish" seats in (same seats as a GTII)

I had a Helios Blue F reg Scala with a injection engine & blue seats ... & a brown Storm & a white GT smile

White Scala's are the coolest because they had white lines on the rear lights lol

I think the GT (1.6 carb) disappeared late F reg then a bit of a gap til GTII (1.8 carb) came out ... maybe the GTS filled that gap??? pretty sure they were 1.8 carb

To be fair, most 3/5/6 didn’t get specced with “individual” bits, in the same way the 7 did. After all, the individual stuff ain’t cheap. It’s less of a concern on a £100k 7 than it is on a £20k 3series, obviously.

What’s interesting is that the style152 comes in a variety of sizes, both diameter, width & offset, so that it fits many models:

http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/152

So with that said, some shameless whoring of my car with the 152 wheels in 20” flavour. As a 760 (6l v12), there’s only about 160 total brought into the UK from 2002-2008, but there’s many, many more 730d...

Audi A8 is quite common, A8 LWB W12 quite rare, usually one or two on Autotrader, but my A8 SWB W12 sports quattro is very rare. They made a few hundred in 2004/5 as a stopgap between the old D2 S8 V8 (anyone seen the 'Ronin' car chase?) and the new D3 S8 V10 -same power, but less torque than the W12. Only about 50 right hand drive versions were sold here - I don't know how many are still on the road.
I see it's been mentioned before in this thread - just thought I'd clarify and expand on it a bit. One of the finest sports saloons of its time - utterly delightful to drive.
