In contrast, 6 B12 Alpinas came to the UK in the same period.
So a very rare version of an already very rare car wink

If Ford can fit the wrong head gasket to some Focus RS engines over a period of 2 years then putting completely the wrong engine in one Escort is entirely believable!

regarding the mk1 touareg, when it first came out the v10 and 2.5 were the only diesels available, later on the 3.0 v6 came out.

i have seen a surprising amount of the v10 diesels. but hardly ever see a petrol, think i've seen 1 v8 and 1 3.2

Those were the days when diesel became a must have option for any new German car.

Bought a 2.5T Ford S-Max just before Christmas.

Same Volvo derived 5 Cylinder turbo as fitted to the Focus ST and RS.

Rare with that engine choice anyway, but mine also has the full MS designs body kit which was a dealer fit option, and 20" MS design wheels.

The kit was as used on the original "Sport concept" of the car, and mine looks just like this, but black.

When I was buying mine there were 4 2.5T's in the country for sale, and only one with the kit - which I bought.

That is awesome. Wasn't some Dax Rush's Cosworth powered?
It was good fun, some Dax were indeed.

I have a manual E60 LCi 530i. 101 RHD models ever made. Only 2 of these were sold new in Ireland, 1 x SE and 1 x M Sport and I'm the second owner of the SE one.

Yellow FN2 Civic Type R?

Slight different shade to the concept car but I really dig it.

I wonder how many manual W8 estates were sold in the UK with the recaro interior.

Brilliant car, used as a daily for 12 months, petrol station owner and I are on a first name basis.

I find that quite remarkable on a car enthusiasts forum. yikes
really
Yes, really!

I think it's unusual for anyone who might visit a car forum not to have heard of Westfield before.

Not sure if its of interest to anyone compared to some of the cars here but I've got a bmw f10 530i which apparently had less than 80 sold in the UK when it went on sale between 2012 and 2013. Bit boring compared to some here I guess. It goes well though. Interestingly (to me) the book 0-60 is .3s slower than the six pot 528i which had ~15bhp less but is otherwise identical car just with a detuned engine. 6.5s for 272ps 530i vs 6.2s for the 245ps 528i. When I lay awake at night worrying about that, I like to tell myself that BMW made it look slower to widen the gap with the 535i which was 5.9s.

I'd like to nominate my current car - A Mondeo Estate, but the 2.0T 204ps version - they only made it in a short window before the 240ps version was released. When I was looking through the classifieds, only 2 were for sale.

Lovely car but not without its flaws, which warms me to it.
I was going to nominate mine... The Mondeo Estate 2.5T... but it's positively common in comparison to the 2.0T 204PS version!
I had the S-MAX with 204ps 2.0T, which is even rarer than the Mondeo. In fact I used to get all sorts of bother insuring it and buying tyers etc as it didn't often appear on the databases where you can pick the car from a drop down list, giving the impression it was some sort of import which it definitely wasn't.

My nomination is the 560SE W126 (short wheelbase body with the biggest engine). The UK and most markets got the lwb 560SEL, but the 560SE had the hairy chested engine and the more nimble swb chassis. 1,200 built out of a total S Class production run of aorund 900,000.

The S-Max's 2.5T engine was slightly de-tuned to 210hp I think rather than 221hp in the Focus.

SEAT Ibiza Cupra Black ~378 registered in 2017. Only released 2016-2017 with the highly regarded 1.8TSI engine seen in the A3/Leon/Superb etc which vastly improved upon the 1.4TSI twincharged engine in the older Ibiza Cupra's. Last ever Ibiza Cupra (for now), future classic maybe?

It was, but more or less exactly the same engine with the same tuning options if you are so inclined.

There are few on the various groups pushing 350bhp+ without any issues apart from traction. hehe
