Still not clear on why that would mean it was his fault.
Try walking through some dodgy part of any inner city wearing a shiny Rolex...you will soon get alot less confused.Paracetamol said:
Well if its worth 50x more than any body elses in the vicinty and is gaudy, ugly and with roman coloums on the outside then may be.
Its a fact of life that expensive houses nearer or in poorer areas are usually targeted
You just couldn't make this kind of stupidity up, it's straight from the heart Its a fact of life that expensive houses nearer or in poorer areas are usually targeted
Damn those gaudy 'roman coloums', I wonder how many avoidable muggings and burglaries they have caused.

Its all fairly simple...you have little hope of changing society. Better to adapt to it and if that means not flaunting your wealth in such a hugely ostentatious manner than so be it...when in Rome (as opposed to Roman Coloumns😀).Damn those gaudy 'roman coloums', I wonder how many avoidable muggings and burglaries they have caused.
..bet you a pound to a penny that this Bentayga driving mother no longer owns her Bentayga..

Are you for real? If you are and your ‘garage’ is also for real, you are a hypocrite.

That must've been a harrowing experience for the Bentley driver, thankfully she wasn't harmed.
Driving back to London from a week of touring around Europe last summer I had an awakening experience just a couple of miles from my home. Driving to SW8 from the channel tunnel I decided to cut through East London. It's about 6pm, nice sunny evening, no worries or so I thought.
Somewhere near New Cross I was sitting at the traffic lights about 5/6 cars back from the front in a single lane. I notice a scooter pull up and stop next to the offside window (I'm in a lhd 599), the pillion begins to ruffle around in his bag and my heart sank. I quickly realised my wallet and other valuables were in plain view on the passenger seat. Thankfully the lights quickly turned green and the cars in-front all moved off. I am still stationary, in first gear with eyes on the pillion's arms. After a few seconds with neither of us moving and the pillion still fumbling his bag I begin to move off at a snails pace and the scooter pulls in behind me and sits just inches from my rear bumper. As I approached the junction the road splits and I kept to the left lane to continue forward with the scooter still up my chuff. At the last moment I aggressively turned right, crossing the right hand lane and the junction and floored it. In my review mirror I could see the youths flailing their arms around and thankfully they decided I wasn't worth pursuing.
There have been other instances in London, a young kid, who was part of one of these scooter gangs, was knocked off and killed on the Kings road. I found myself stuck in the middle of their "memorial service" which involved about 20-30 kids blocking Sydney Street performing all manner of stunts on stolen bikes without plates; and to top if off there were about 20 officers standing 30 metres away doing absolutely nothing other than talking amongst themselves.
The UK crime rate has increased dramatically over the last several years, especially in cities, and the police need more powers in order to tackle this crime wave dominated by scooter gangs!!

This is the problem, you allow people like this to behave with impunity/imunity and they will get more and more brazen and fearless. Look at what travellers get away with. If they don't crack down now, it'll only get worse. How long before it gets so bad that something has to be done? The UK crime rate has increased dramatically over the last several years, especially in cities, and the police need more powers in order to tackle this crime wave dominated by scooter gangs!!

Probably Romanians. Brexit can't come soon enough.
I beg to differ, 2 Romanians work for me and they tell me the reason they have a bad name is because of the gypsies that live over there, Romanians are no different to Bulgarians or Hungarians, it’s the gypsies that give them a bad name!My guess on their ethnicity would be Asian, a lot of gangs up there so I hear.
As a South Asian I am ashamed to be classed the same as these fools. Idiots.

Moped gang crime has soared 1,600% in the last five years in London!!!There are a couple of threads in the biker banter section where some bikers living in East London cannot find an insurer for their renewal quote despite a clean licence and no accidents.
I live in Chelsea and I see them on a weekly basis, just cruising around without a care in the world. I usually report them to the police but not once have the police followed up with me for a statement. I can only assume they never catch them. It's disgusting
I had a phone snatched from my hand by one of these scooter muggers. Happened in the blink of an eye. They were very experienced - number plate was covered, black, nondescript clothing/helmets, balaclavas.
The police told me there is nothing they can do. They need specially qualified pursuit drivers in the area but, if the scrotes remove their helmets (which they immediately do), the police have to call off the pursuit in case the delicate flowers hurt themselves.
There is talk of banning scooters from carrying pillion passengers in London. Ridiculous that we have got to this point.

As I stated earlier I live in a country where the crime rate is extremely low. If I lived in a place where I knew my wife and kids would be at risk by driving an expensive SUV ..and one that provides little utility expect to shout out about my wealth, then I simply wouldn't do it.If you are and your ‘garage’ is also for real, you are a hypocrite.
My cars are not aimed at illustrating how wealthy I am(or not!)..they are there because I love cars. I can bet you one of my cars that the Bentayga was not bought because this lady is a petrolhead...is it really worth putting yourself in mortal danger for this..same applies to Audi S3 and RS6..

Its not going to get any better. Due to the lack of money all the area cars read pursuit cars bar one for each borough have been withdrawn. The police told me there is nothing they can do. Rumours are Westminster will have none so there will nothing left to chase them with. Apart from a couple of traffic cars.

It's all down to resources.Look at what happened to the Prison Service. Budgets were slashed. Prison violence and suicides went through the roof. Government starts injecting money again.
And it's happening to the Police Service.
The government keeps cutting back until the system fails and then begrudgingly starts increasing investment again.
It is abundantly clear that this government has cut police resources (and court, probation and prison resources) to the point where society is starting to fall to bits.
This is a bit of a generalisation, but pretty much the only stuff that's being prosecuted are domestic violence offences and sexual offences. Burglaries, thefts, frauds, public order offences, vehicle crime and non DV violence are far less frequently prosecuted than a few years ago. The number of juveniles appearing in the youth courts has dropped off a cliff.
I am a criminal defence solicitor. It is alarming to see the changes in CPS and police policy and priorities. What's most miserable is that the criminal fraternities know that they have been given a green light to offend with impunity.
We don't need any changes in the law. What we need is a very significant restoration of police resources and a policy change robustly to investigate and prosecute young offenders.
In the meantime, you can keep your Bentley. The last thing I want to do in the present climate is to make myself a target for a crime that won't even get investigated.
It has to be said, driving a Bentayga in a run-down inner-city area is kind of making yourself a conspicuous target. That's not victim-blaming, it's a statement of fact. I sympathise with the lady and her kids, there's no justification for what they went through, but you can't ignore the psychology of buying cars like that.
Re the police, it would help if the buggers used the powers and resources they already have in a more sensible way. Mid Surrey is littered with manned speed camera vans, laser traps and so on, all taking up resources (and frequently very close to fixed cameras), but they can't spare an officer to turn out to a burglary... took a neighbour of mine FOUR DAYS to get the rozzers in, and apparently all they did was take a look around and note down what had been taken. No attempt to dust for prints or any other forensics...
...and the police turning a blind eye to vehicle thefts and muggings doesn't half make me wonder if some of them aren't in on it. I could tell some real horror stories about police corruption, albeit the most horrifying story by far remains sub judice for the moment.
Re the scooter gangs - sod the usual pursuit procedures. If they have to ram the little scrotes off their bikes, and some of them end up with life-changing injuries as a result, too bloody bad.
