Configurator now includes GTi and the brochure and price lists have been updated to include it too.
Also on the finance calculator.

Options ticked and silver = £15990

I'd like one, but I think I'd get laughed at selling a golf gti to buy one! especially being 6ft 6

Think Andrew Chapple's images have persuaded me that red with a black roof is the way to go. Was swaying towards black but I think you lose too much of the detail, the side stripes, and the contrast of a different coloured roof.

As far as options are concerned, I think I'll definitely go with climate control, simply because I think the rotary dials look a bit basic, but that's it.

Cheers for the flickr page link - nice to see a few more "real life" shots smile

Just spent a bit of time on the configurator. Just under £15k for a decent spec one in Silver with a decent spread of options or £15,300 with the Beats upgrade. Agree about the climate control though - I don't think a car that small really needs it, but IMO the interior looks much better with that setup when compared to the manual dials.

Quite a few amusing VW options available too - Kayak / surf board holder anyone hehe

Some less than impressive mpg numbers on those pictures... I hope he'd been giving it a good seeing to?

Looks like the city stop thing needs to be ticket for auto wipers and lights - a must in 2016 I think.

Parking sensors look to be standard, but the rear camera at £160 seems a no brainier - even if it works through your phone!

Other than the above, climate and a black roof and free red paint I think that's the direction I'd be pushing the wife in! (unless I'm missing anything else)

Quite likely, plus I think it was pretty much on delivery miles when he did the test drive. The Top Gear article mentioned they thrashed it around a track for hours and got 27mpg.

What a depressing choice of colours to choose from! And no alloy wheel choices either?

You have to spec the Cruise & Park pack at £300 to get rear parking sensors.

I must admit, I was hoping there would be a blue option thrown in with the others frown I think it would have looked good in Lapiz Blue, like the Golf R.

Homage to the Mk.1 GTI colours - that's the gist at any rate.

I'd love the Brescia design to be an option...

Some initial lease figures have been released....

3 door, 3+35, 10k, £185+VAT

5 door, 3+35, 10k, £189+VAT

Guessing those would be standard cars in red.

Looking at this or a 595 now. roughly the same price when some boxes are ticked.

Anyone got any clue at all on lead times?
I had a 595 a couple of years ago - utterly bonkers to drive, exhilarating and unhinged, but the driving position and especially the ride quality were just too much for me.

I changed it for a Fiesta ST which was better in every way, but lacked any of the specialness that the Abarth had.

Try one for an extended period of time!

Anyone know what added functionality the "multifunction computer" gives? I assume with the Maps & More being standard it will display info about MPG etc?

Have also noticed that the GTI has appeared on Drive The Deal with a £1635 discount, including the £500 PCP dealer contribution, meaning a basic three door is £12114.

Bugger,
Am I missing something, didn't they stop making the Lupo about 10 years ago?
