The BMW and Audi just look like the majority of BMWs and Audis to me.

Wondering what that says about me :-)
I think with that Audi it's the way it's parked and the attitude it represents. You just know the owner is a some tattooed gym bunny who uses instagram and #squadgoals
It probably has one of those hideous gas mask “baby on board” stickers on the rear as well. Just to highlight to us we can support their offspring for the next 18 years.

I'm going off topic a bit now, but I grew up in the 70s/80s in Newcastle, living in a council flat.

I didn't know any 'chavs'. There weren't any. There were poor people, and there were stupid people, but very few had any sort of antisocial attitude, or that "F88k you" attitude that some people seem to have today.

Is this just a case of social and economic breakdown on a massive scale, hidden from the middle class through the smokescreen of house prices? Or something else?

Anyway, back on topic, there is only one make model and colour of car that, imho, reliably screams "chav//probably a very unpleasant person".

RRS in white.

Every single car ever. Ever. All of them, especially yours dear reader and the one you're about to buy.
Possibly the greatest post on Pistonheads ever. hehe

"Dear reader", "yours", and "the one you're about to buy" - all words economically damning you today, and forever.

Love it

You don't think its a motoring journalist masquerading as a humble PH'er?

Or a man called "Colin" who goes to Llandudno once a year in the Morris morris traveller with his sister?

Or "Nige" from Basildon (loves motorbikes & making barbeques for faaaamilly gatherings)?

The posibilities are endless but I welcome other thoughts on this mystery hero.

It's someone extremely talented - either inherently and permanently, or he's basically struck oil while putting up a tent hehe

either way, respect due hehe

Why the frequent desire in General Gassing to brand others as chavs, “council” etc talk about “despising” certain cars and their owners etc ?

It’s very odd.
Because most English people are insufferable snobs with deeply ingrained obsessions with status, hierarchy, perception of class (newsflash, you're all proles) and trying to find whatever tiny thing they can that makes them feel better than the next man.

Looks a bit chavy to me. But then we are all different and like different things.
