Probably going to get a lot of hate, but the first generation 1 series. Around where I live, for some reason 17 year olds seem to be opting for those as first cars now; I can count 5 or 6 in the local sixth form college car park. Their low cost purchase used makes it appealing to them, I guess.

Why the frequent desire in General Gassing to brand others as chavs, “council” etc talk about “despising” certain cars and their owners etc ?

It’s very odd.

I have a chav car (I think most on this site would say), it doesn't bother me!

I'd rather not be despised, but if that's what happens for choosing that car, it's a bit late now

It is.

The very same cars when owned by a different mindset are 'classics'. Half the issue is that the site if full of insecure old men who just have to run everything down. They've forgotten their youth and should probably just be put down and used for spares.

Yes I’ve seen this sad current trend aswell it’s like they have been brought up under the generation of “anything not German is crap” parenting method or because of social media they won’t accept driving anything other than bmw, audi, Merc or Vw. You only have to say you drive a “BMW” etc and everyone is impressed regardless of model or age. I absolutely despise the current social media trend of posting pictures of Audi or similar car keys next to other brands Like an expensive watch or something like there a fking baller living the high life.

Envy
Taking the piss
It’s the internet and people say thing or type things they would never dream of in real life
Drunk people posting
Drugged people posting
People who might have been cut up more often by x car and seen occupants so thinks every owner is a etc.

I’d say crime rates of certain cars probably are a fairer indication of the chav car of choice ie Golf R Audi S3 and E92 M3 are prime examples of high theft vehicles add in the big RS Audi’s too.

This...but who would want their "spares"? laugh

idea

Attestupa! Isn't that the Viking practice where the old folks would jump off a cliff so as to spare the cost of keeping them around? Perhaps the PH Elderly who whinge and moan a lot should bring that back. biggrin

Nearly every car has its Chav owners for certain models. You can count on one hand the the makes that you don’t see chavs driving like Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Kia, Mazda all seem to be driven sensibly by normal folks.
All the rest have a lot of chav owners thanks to cheap leasing and pcp etc.
Main culprits seem to be Corsa limited edition with black wheels, Fiesta ST line or special red/black edition they think it’s rapid cos it’s got a turbo bruv, White 320d M Sport always driven aggressively, Range Rover Evoques I despise all owners seem to be the same. There’s tons of cars too many to mention
Eh. Chavs love hot Honda's.

Trouble is I don’t think the OP is an old man, so that’s that theory out the window.

See quite a few barried Volvo S40s with lowered suspension, huge exhausts and blacked out windows. This kind of thing...
