I used to hate certain cars but then my local Europcar had a "running out of cars" patch and gave me a Scenic to do Scotland to London and back one weekend followed by a Peugeot Partner the next weekend and a Kangoo the one after. All were smooth and comfortable with nothing to complain about.

It's not really the cars fault though, designed by a human, driven by a c**k.

About as sensible assessment as saying all Frenchmen eat cheese.

Audi A1, pretty much all models but especially the S1 seem to be driven by testosterone driven middle class young men with very high levels of aggression. Every time I see one it seems to be right up my arse about to try and overtake expecting oncoming traffic to get out the way or raging at another driver who's not pleasing them.

Also the Juke. I think it's replaced the Picasso as the car of choice for aggressive council estate dad's who wish they were driving something more interesting.

And surrender all the time. biggrin People gravitate towards brands so sometimes it's possible to make stereotypes and generalisations.

For me it's the Landrover Discovery, Freelanders and Evoques.

So many varieties I have lost track of the newer models but they are everywhere at the moment, must be on cheap lease deals.

Around here they are Chaved up with tints and black wheels.

Always in the fast lane trying to dominate other cars or forcing their way out of junctions.

If I have one ahead of me I make a point of dropping a gear, giving them a flash and blasting past them.

Very satisfying and totally irrational, guess I don't like even looking at them.

Heh, I love Volvos for exactly what they are and that love came from owning an 1800S.

Great workhorses that you can absolutely depend on. smile

Not surprised to see the X6 pop up on numerous occasions. In it's defence, it's a tremendous piece of engineering from BMW. High riding heavy car but actually has minimal body roll, is quick and has insane levels of grip. It's fun to drive.

I hate any car chugging out black smoke out the rear. Get your damn car fixed for God's sake.

I didn’t say they weren’t good cars and probably great workhorses.

For me they’re just so staid, middle class, boring & ‘sensible ‘.

Which will most likely be wrong.

Not irrational it's the fiat 500!

I had two for six weeks while my car was in for repair via insurance. They are slow, the gear stick is on the dashboard, the door handle sticks so the door doesn't close properly, they actually have a very average turning circle and worst of all, other drivers assume that you can only travel at the speed of a pushbike and will cut you up constantly. I think there was two days where I had the ABS activated 4 times. The controls for wing mirrors and windows are also in the centre of the vehicle, rather than on the door, which makes no sense.

My first car was a Peugeot 107 so I am used to slow vehicles (exact same BHP) but I found that all the "features" you get with the 500 are poorly designed making the 107 a better car (in my opinion)

The "technology" in the car is pretty rubbish as well... Speakers are bad and Bluetooth connectivity is quite poor!

I'm also 6ft 1 male and a few people who I came across on the road laughed when they saw me driving it lol.

Lots of the new budget SUV-type vehicles are pretty annoying.. Relatively low power with slow acceleration but think that they own the road and will tailgate at all costs (kuga, juke, Hyundai suv, mokka, qashqai, sportage)

The very best place for it, I greatly miss the gear lever location from my Civic Type R.

Did it have a sunroof? Was a passenger in one and my head was scraping the roof, and I'm an inch shorter than you! Couldn't drive one for that reason alone.
