300mph by year end?

...be it with hybrid compounds, or merely a better understanding of how forces acting on tyres are different at 300mph than at 200mph.
It's the latter, and possibly not even that. When the LSR was considered important and high-profile, Goodyear had test rigs that could simulate the running of tyres at these sort of speeds. We're talking about 60 years ago - ancient history. They got rid of them because everybody realised that the LSR was a pointless exercise, with no validity for road vehicle development.
As has been pointed out above, anyone with a brain has realised that ICE supercars are now a blind alley. The world is moving on. Let's not pretend that these high-speed pissing competitions have any validity in terms of engineering research: they're just a marketing tool to project glamour to the gullible and those who (for reasons best known to themselves) wish to impress schoolboys.

Siemens, who are involved in Bloodhound's software, have found much of their tech in the car will be of great use in the medical arena, directly feeding into equipment used by the NHS, for example. I understand how Goodyear might have lost interest in it many moons ago (they certainly didn't in drag racing, they have the monopoly on NHRA pro class tyre supply to this day), but there's other aspects of technology development at play than just car development. When the LSR was considered important and high-profile, Goodyear had test rigs that could simulate the running of tyres at these sort of speeds. I still mess around with ICE's containing push rods, so am in that group of folk minus a brain

Let's just have a sit down and a cup of tea.
Stop reading that book, you.
And why are you bothering to listen to music?
Don't you realise it's pointless?
Stop having fun, it's such a waste of time.

No. You edited a post that's under my name.
Nope, it's definitely still there, in its original, unexpurgated, full and unedited glory...https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Anyway, I always thought the F40 was only tested at 199mph by the various mags of the time?
I thought it was tested to 201 or 202, then the Diablo came along and matched it or was 1mph higher?! My memory is getting fuzzy admittedly!Edit, I was wrong, that was the XJ220 - https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/features/car-culture...

You are so odd.
Quite tedious.
Don't drag me into your nonsense again by editing things I've written.
Our interaction is at an end.
That's nice, dear.Quite tedious.

Do let me know when you understand the difference between editing your post (which only a mod/you can do) and editing quoted text (which anybody can do).
