Guy Martin did 257mph in just over a mile at Elvington yesterday on his own built bike.
Not shabby.

In a factory road car? Koenigsegg have come close - https://www.koenigsegg.com/koenigsegg-agera-rs-ach...
So 277 mph in a factory road car that you can buy (Euromillions money).

So what's stopping them squeezing the extra 23 mph to hit 300 mph?

I'm guessing either tyre performance limits and air resistance are the biggest factors.

I think it would be absolutely flippin' marvelous to reach 300mph.

There are a great number of filter-down benefits that will come and it hopefully means the chances of going to 200mph are greater for a larger number of people - which is tremendous even for the thrill factor.

Bring it on and well done to Koenigsegg for having the minerals to make such a beast!!

I suspect thermal management will be an issue as well - making big power means making big waste heat! :-o

bugatti are announcing a new car a little later this year, if it's the Chiron SS then there's a good chance that'll hit 300 if they test it.

Same as being the first on Everest or first on the moon....because it's there.
