Agreed on the interior barring a plastic plaque and blue dials it's just the same although some posters would have you believe different, it has crappy Dakota leather as standard just like a 320d.

You need to go for either of the Lavalina leather interiors to get anything special otherwise it’s the same as standard BMW. The top Lavalina II pack on the 3 covers everything in semi analine leather entirely but its a 14k option.
I know, I've specced them up every time I've ordered a new M car and every time they don't add up.
They never do “add up” but that’s not why people buy them. If you want a car that adds up take the M with the discount. If you want to be able to spec your car to your perfect individual specification and prefer a just as fast but slightly less raw drive than the M you buy the Alpina but at full price and with no discount. This car with its lack of spec is more than likely an ex demo. Most Alpina are lavishly specced and their owners keep them for years because selling in the first few years would see you savaged by depreciation because the general market does not understand them. There are no real equivalents to the Alpina experience in any other brand.

There's a reason you can get 20% off a brand new M car, I had one of the early F80 M3's & apart from when you're properly going for it the D3 is a match for it cross country.

I'm not saying buy one instead of the M3/4 I'm saying give the B3/4S a try.

This thread has just done the usual on here. Split down the middle between those that get Alpina and appreciate them and those fear don’t

Had an alpina d3 for 4 years.... My local service manager would rave about the quality of the ride.... So I get alpina.....

But at 22ish you'll get a 16plate facelift 335d m sport with under 10k on the clock, and that's where I'd put my money... Compared to this car

I get it. I’ve had one new but wouldn’t buy this one as it’s spec is very low and that’s unusual

Not the spec for me..... The my16 updates... Lci or whatever addressed suspension issues in the base model..... Remove the run flats, further improvement... So for me it's the age and mileage.... 14 plate and out of warranty and 86k miles on a pre facelift.....

I thought it was a £7.5k option?

Don’t think they ever came with runflats - certainly, the new one we bought in 2011 didn’t.

The Alpina always ditched the run flats
