Fair play Ford, you have something fun For most wallets. Looking at the time differential I think the GTE racer must have its restrict removed and the wick turned up a little. Surely the cage would overcome a good slice of the weight saving made by binning the active suspension and creature comforts, the slicks are worth maybe 3 seconds. Do you think the rest of the time is all just better aero and motorsport ABS, or do you reckon they said, "Hey there's no rules today boys Iets have an extra half Bar of boost?
I think you’re probably underestimating jut how fast a GTE car is. They have about 600-700kg of downforce and a lot of tyre. Incidentally they don’t have ABS. Only GT3 cars get that luxury.

The pole time at Silverstone last year was the Ford with a 1min55sec qually time. To put that into perspective, it’s a full 20s faster than a 911 GT3 RS will do absolutely flat out with a pro driver, or 35s faster than a Focus RS. So the times on the video are pretty accurate I’d say! The fact that the GT road car is only 10s off is phenomenal.

Ah, thought the implication was it was available on the mainland but not the UK! I suspect the reality is it would be close to £100k in the UK if it was on sale here...

The gt350R might well be close if you base it on 1:1 to the USD price including the dealer markup. Let’s call it £80k-£90k.

But the one I want is the basic road spec gt350 which would be about £55k based on 1:1 to the usd.
I would want it LHD with a fully working oil cooler too, not the chocolate one ford use on the rhd GT and refuse to issue a recall for!!

Is the GT500 of any interest, presumably looking at £100,000+.
