RE: Renault Megane R.S: Driven
Discussion
Very much on my shortlist to replace the clio (The one with the "awful" EDC gearbox that "makes it no fun to drive") later this year/early next year.
Liquid yellow, cup chassis and then ruin it with the EDC 'box (because despite the generic bandwagon it's actually decent in the clio and does the job very well for what I use it for)

I personally liked the EDC in the Clio tbh and would still choose it, even if they did a manual version. I think that's what hacked most Renault Sport enthusiasts off, that there was no option for a manual like there is on this new Megane.Liquid yellow, cup chassis and then ruin it with the EDC 'box (because despite the generic bandwagon it's actually decent in the clio and does the job very well for what I use it for)

Thanks for that! Edit to add: I will definitely consider one of these in the future as a little play thing for a year or two. Manual with cup spec for me please!

Theres always one. So what did the reviewer think of the car in your opinion? Of the ride? the adjustability? Steering? Brakes? Gearbox? Clutch? etc etcEdited by Ahbefive on Wednesday 31st January 15:27
Anyhow, Nick, if you've read this far down the comments, the post was for you. I accept I'm clearly in a minority of respondents but that's how it is. I'd wager that respondents aren't always representative of readers.
I don't know why some people are moaning about the article. I found it clear and informative.
Back on topic, I love the fact that Renault haven't followed ze Germans in the arms race and haven't gone for a car that's powerful for the sake of it and looks lairy and overly aggressive, but have concentrated on the driving dynamics, the ride and the handling, and with some really good looks at that. Just like with the Alpine. I respect the French for doing their own thing. If this Megane is one bit as good as it sounds, I'd be all over one (....only if I could afford one...) . Liquid yellow with a manual box and the sport chassis for me please!

Either you don't know what decent motor journalism is or you're having a larfffff.

Just re-read it to give it some air to breath. Nah, same terrible writing as the first round unfortunately.

Or we like different things. Either you don't know what decent motor journalism is or you're having a larfffff.
I did the same as you and re-read the review. Enjoyed it enough the second time round, but you're right, I'm not a journalist or an editor.

I've been complaining about Nic Cack at Autocar for years now, as have everyone else, do a google. He seems to have managed to be become a motoring journalist who wants to be
but ended up being Troy Queef who was off testing the new Porsche 595 Abarth S in the Dolomites only this week on PH, or was that HP? Too much sauce either way.
Sadly Autocar finally shuffled him off to Pistonheads, seemingly to replace Dan Prosser, who can actually drive a car and can write an article with contrafibularities in sight.
Thank you Haymarket chief execs. You obviously know nowt about PH. Like Evo magazine bosses are ruining that too.
To stop this Nic Crappet going too far forward I suggest we all write in and ask for him to be burnt at the stake on a funeral pyre of thesaurus and Michelin Pilot cup 2's
Or he can release a video of he, himself and him again, oversteering a Honda S200 on Yokohama A520's around a soggy Brands. Then we could forgive.
Time to put up of shut up Nicckk!

I'd certainly take your wager that respondants certainly are representative of the thoughts of anyone reading the article, I'd also wager that most people here would also take that wager.

And you're right, evo is really suffering at the moment. The last one was very poor.
Sorry for the additional letter Nic
