RE: Mazda 6 MPS: Spotted
Discussion
Good cars - I wanted one originally but went for a Mk2 3 MPS instead (as it was still in Mazda warranty when I bought) with the same engine.
I got rid of my 3 MPS back in November (after owning it for nearly 6 years), but it was a good car.
6 MPS suffers from rust a bit and VVT problems like other people have said (£600ish will get the VVT sorted). Tyre size is something like 215/45/18 if I remember right, some people just chuck 225/40/18 on instead. Well worth avoiding wide open throttle below 3k RPM with the 2.3 DISI - I've read a few comments about people chucking a rod through the block doing this.
Would I buy one now? Not sure. Even the newest is getting on a little in age and like others have said, parts availability can be problematic.
