I think given that it's (presumably) LHD only, limited colour choice and "strong" interior, I'd rather have a regular RS6, and then take it an aftermarket tuner.
As much as I don't tend to worry about such things as I like to keep my cars, presumably residuals on this will laugh in the face of an aftermarket effort.
I'm sure you're right. But then you'd be starting from a much higher price point.

My MK1 S3 had lovely blue alcantara seat inserts like that...... and that's where the similarity ends.

Considerably cheaper. My RS6 Plus. Only has 480bhp though.

I do love that colour. A lad i know who lives round the corner from me has just sold his B5 S4 Avant in Nogaro Blue.

What an utterly mental RS6 this is though. I'm not so sure on the blue seats but the alcantara wheels looks lovely yum

Must be the "tuition-free university education" making them come up with these crazy ideas!
Nah, it's because cool bags don't sell well in Germany.

There you are, in the car park at Lidl or Aldi, with frozen peas and ice cream melting and you think, "I really need to get this shopping home quickly".

Ta da, some bright spark comes up with a 700 bhp estate car.

Best all round car in the world?

The only argument i can see otherwise is the MPG or looks... but looks are suggestive and i personally think it looks great.

I read the thread https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Personally, anyone who maps a standard car pushing over 500 bhp and blows it deserves everything they get.
No sympathy.

Never enough for some people.
I blame Pootube for that. It's normalized everything that used to be shocking and/or impressive.

Some of the bhp numbers I've seen being thrown around the tube at the moment - mainly from the well known UK vlog channels - seem a bit far fetched. 600hp Golf Rs for example, on standard internals? I can't see penny-pinching VAG building 300hp headroom into their engines.

Honestly, I can’t see any wow factor in this. If doesn’t seem to have improved on the shortfallings of the ‘normal’ RS6. I.e. univolving, lifeless numb steering? Can’t see a 15% power increase adding anything to the package bar ‘bragging rights’. Imagine you’d only notice the difference over 100mph anyway, hence I guess why Germany only.

A PHer recently remapped his RS6 with a light tune to ~700bhp... blew the engine... and Audi asked for ~£40k to repair / replace it...
Do you just feel the urge to talk st constantly is it like an illness

I assume you will be offering Yipper an apology?
I read the thread and it appears there is a some doubt as to the honesty of the poster....so that would be a no.
The fact remains that a remapped RS6 would be refused a warranty claim if the engine went bang, so it's interesting that Audi have gone to an outside tuner for a remap.

Nothing wrong with Yipper's post, you should apologise.
