Rare? There's 7 of these things round the corner to my work. 3 are hatches.

Good cars for what they are but if I wanted a cheap fast wagon for 25 bags, I'd buy an B7/8 S4/RS4
I take it you must work round the corner from a Ford dealership then?

And that makes sense, a cheaper alternative to a Ford Focus is an RS4 lol confused

Last recall seeing an estate last year on the way to work. Black and definately a petrol. He thought he was going slip past me in my 'librarian' Saab 9-5 at the first overtaking opportunity. How wrong he was. He hadn't vouched for a stage 3+ Aero.

On a more serious note interesting to hear torque steer can be bad. I thought Ford had this sussed at this power level? I like the idea of a fast estate and the Focus looks good. For some reason I thought they were still a 5 pot.

Definately good value in any case.

Stealth Focus ST3 Estate 11-07-17 by Andy McMillan, on Flickr

Only problem I had with mine was a headlight needed replaced under warranty, sorted with minimal fuss.

I had the Mountune upgrade on my car, traded the ST Estate in for a Focus RS, I am enjoying the RS but miss the ST.

That is nice, but I’d probably go full yob and paint the weels black and lose the red wheel caps cool

I've had my pre-facelift for nearly 3 years, and it has just ticked over 60k and 5 years old. The only niggle has been the door seals all coming off, but otherwise just routine servicing.

It isn't perfect, but it suits my needs fine. I have two young kids and it works well - a reasonable compromise! (Though rear passenger space isn't amazing). Can be good fun to drive on a dry road - A little rough and tagged round the edges, but I think that makes it fun rather than oversanitised. It's just the damp/cold traction that's a bit of an issue if you try to be too enthusiastic!

Not a fantastic looker, but not bad from some angles and better than the hatch.

I don't see others that often, but did find one to park next to once!

The MK3 is a 4 pot. The RS has 4 wheel drive.
Sorry yeah typo'd 'these 4 pots'...
The RS is in another category.

I nearly traded in my Alpina D3 Touring for one of these last year, I actually drove 300 miles to arrive relaxed and refreshed then jump into the ST pre-facelift only to find the experience fell far short of the ability of the so well set up Alpina.

That 'enhanced' sound through the speakers put me off massively, interesting to know it can be deleted for 20 quid. I wouldn't hesitate in doing so if I bought one.

Instead I bought an Alfa 156 GTA Sportwagon in amazing condition and with a soundtrack to die for. Unfortunately it is far too nice condition for general winter duties so naturally I had to buy another car, an Audi A2 Tdi (remapped) to compliment the Italian as a winter hack.

I do prefer the facelift version I must say, is the realworld mpg any better? My long term average in the Busso is near 30mpg.

I have a facelift - 5000 miles on it and getting around 38-39 on a motorway run 34-35 usually.

Today I was trying to pull off a junction. Car has winters all round and it was skipping and simply not putting the power down. I did have it in 'Sport Mode'

I fail to believe some of the guys have 300bho running through only the front wheels. Must be ridiculous finding grip.

25bags? So you are comparing a brand new focus with a 10 year old RS4? Like they are comparable?

2nd hand these can be bought for £12k.

Appealing alternative to a Golf GTI, they still turn my head briefly whereas I yawn a little at a golf. Lovely steering and chassis, but feels a bit pudgy. The 5cyl with its burbling exhaust note and interesting mechanicals does appeal

Doesn't it?

But it's not a feature of this car.

You'll need those bags to carry all the money that you will need for repairing the RS4 when it breaks.
