Looks cool; can't remember the car design rule book saying it had to be huge to be a performance car- F1 would suggest the opposite.

It's about how it looks, not it's performance. So some of the Lotus-7 type cars go like bloody hell and they are of course small cars. But they look fine being that size.

But, for example, take the car I have, a GT-R. That's a big car. Now, if you made it the same shape but the size of an Elise, it would look like a dinky toy. Could you imagine driving round in a GT-R that was the same size as an Elise ? You would look like a grade-A bellend driving a kids toy car !

For these types of cars do they have an agreement with Lotus? Or do they buy a number of the cars whole?
Or would they pay a special price & tell Lotus to not bother with bits that they aren't using so it comes as a bare / rolling chassis or what?
It depends. Hennessey buy them whole and registered as a Lotus. That way they are already compliant/legal in the US (or any market where Lotus is sold).

Teslas were built/registered as a separate car, however the body was built by Lotus and the drive train by Tesla.

I suspect this car is the former

How it looks is subjective though, and not the absolute you suggest. In the words of the Dude, it's just, er, your opinion man.

Looks fine to me smile

yes, of course it's my opinion. And in my opinion it looks terrible because it's too small. Another example, I also own a Fiat 500, which is a small car. And it looks fine (in my opinion). But the 500X, which is the same shape (well, almost), is huge. And as a result I think it looks utterly ste.

How you can think that looks terrible is beyond me. Proportions matter, not size. Vive la différence I guess!
Well, either way I will not be buying one.

Because a) I can't afford one and b) it's the wrong size laugh

Since that link says 2.9 seconds and PH also says 2.9 seconds then I assume get their number from, erm, the manufacture's web site ?

isn't that better value performance wise than the top elises (which I thought were over £100k) ?

Given the amount of carbon fibre they are using would they have not been better off starting with a 4c?

Honda’s already made a Blackbird, and broke the fastest production bike record. What record is this breaking? Ugliest production car?

I know, what the fk is wrong with everyone on pistonheads? I remember when this used to be a forum for car enthusiasts...

Just like all the griping on the D-type thread.

What the fk is wrong with so many of you?

Why the hell are you here?!

I think best looking is the wrong statement but I've never liked the look of a car more.

It looks fundamentally right from every angle there and oooh yes does it look evil, truly wicked. I love it. I want one.

+1

This PH, not FB - please, please, please would the editorial staff increase the quality of the journalism/articles. I understand and appreciate that there is only a small team working at PH, but please would you ask the journalist to be their own sub-editor (proofreading first, as well) and double triple check the article for social media phraseology tripe?

Whilst there is a wide range of (mental) ages across PHers, rather than pandering to 10-year-old toddler speech, strive for the highest quality and include a bit of 'bearding' / anorak-y / nerdy information and linguistics. nerd

PH is a forum for motoring enthusiasts, not Clarkson-May-Dawe-Hammond-era Top Gear viewers.
