Don't think I will ever get rid of my GTC. Had it for 18 years now.

I've had this since 1992!

Was my daily for 10 years, nearly sold it for an Audi coupe but had an epiphany, and decided preserve it, and run a shed as a daily.
It now has an EFi conversion and I do use it. It's been taxed and MOT'd for almost all my ownership, it does 2000-3000 miles per year.
It is staggeringly reliable and costs sod all to have so it will be sold by my children after my death (they can then finally convert the garage to another room on the houselaugh)
Lovely looking Capri, that! They always looked good in blue over silver smile

I've got a very similar car, an '86 MK3 2.0 Laser in mineral blue (without the silver). Bought when I was 21, that was in late 2004, the car cost £300 at the time...

Briefly considered selling a few years ago, work and baby daughter not allowing me much time to work on or to use the car. Fortunately, by the time I'd done a few jobs on it and got it a fresh MOT, I'd had a complete change of heart. Doesn't get a lot of use, but it's just nice to drive a simple, non-computerised car now and then.

I said I'd never sell my KTM Superduke Battle. It's the only brand new vehicle I've ever had and as I bought it with the profits from a my house sale I told myself it doesn't owe me anything. Done loads of trackdays on it and got pretty quick.

But times changed and tbh I don't like riding on the road because I can't push as hard as I can on track.
I don't ride on track anymore as it's expensive, plus I'm not in the UK very much so it's not convenient.

So I have offered it for sale to my mate, and he's still pondering it. If he has it, great, I just don't ride it anymore. If he doesn't then I'll keep it for a while yet.

My main transport now is my camper and I can't see me selling that as it's not worth all that much, I built it from a standard white panel van and if I got rid of it, I'd need another !

No.

I have stuff I'm told to never part with, but I'd sell them all tomorrow haha, only if at the 'right' price!

Everything's for sale right?

My '96 Mini Cooper 35th Anniversary I bought new in 1996, a '98 (99my) SL320 in 2005, a '94 (95my) Porsche 968 Sport in 2005, my '02 Audi A4 Avant 1.9tdi Sport 130 in 2006, an '02 CL500 in 2009, the '05 Mini Cooper S in 2013 but have a more focused replacement '05 one here now so may as well sell it, undecided, and my late fathers '10 connect van I just bought and will use for a few months for 'stuff', and bikes....my '04 RSVR Factory since 2012, '08 F4 R312 since 2009 I think? My '09 F4 RR312 since 2011 (never used...3 miles), '04 Colin Edwards Replica RSVR since 2009, and '03 Mondial Piega since 2008? Can't remember. My '11 Stelvio was only in 2016 so is too recent to consider a long termer haha.

This is one view of the Cooper S potential replacement haha, I still may well sell it on, but bought it unfinished and it really is tempting to go ahead and finish it simply because it will be such a hoot! Got a dog box and different gear lever on test in my other car to go in here, and some other stuff soon.....

Not a car, but I fancy keeping my T595 Daytona a good while longer and don't see a reason to sell. They're hard to find in this sort of condition now too. The 955i engine remains a firm favourite of mine.

A bike from the time when sport bikes could be ridden all day by full sized people!

I still have my first bike, a 1985 Kawasaki GPZ 600r. Had it 18 years, its undergoing a second restoration with a paint job that cost more than its worth.
I’ve also got a heavily modified 85 BMW k100 that I’ve had for about 10 years that’s unlikely to go anywhere.
My 2014 Triumph explorer still does everything I want it to 3 years after I bought it, I do love the Triumph triple howl.
Aye, the T595 is big bike compared to modern sports bikes. I find it very comfortable to ride but some of my slightly built friends find it a chore to sit on. The low, wide clip on's splay your arms and draw your chest towards the tank, but there is a good heft to wrap your legs round and the foot pegs are comfortable. A colleague of mine has one and loves his too, though he's a big bloke like me.

Nice to hear you enjoy your Explorer. I was given an Explorer XRT as a courtesy bike last year and I really enjoyed it. Never thought I'd have fun on an adventure bike. Well, not so much that I was having fun, so much as being impressed with it's breadth of ability. A decent steer, superb refinement and loads of kit. Perfect for long trips and sightseeing. Not slow by any stretch either.

Great thread, I've enjoy looking through this one over the last few weeks, thought it was time I added my pride and joy.

I have now owned her for 11 years and really can't see myself parting with her. I would probably end up with my son never talking to me again I sold it, he was only two when I got it, so for him it's always been's daddy's car in the garage, it doesn't get used very much but the two of us go to a few car shows and I used to quite often use it as the school run car.

Now I am jealous. As per earlier in the thread I wish I'd never been in a position where I had to sell mine.

Nah, I’ve said a few times that I’d never part with a car...

But in 23 years of car ownership I’ve never kept a daily driver longer than 3 years (the average us nesrer 2 years), and never kept a garage toy longer than 5 years.

It’s only an MX5 but has given me a huge amount of fun and is the baseline I measure everything else on. It’s also on its way to being my hillclimb and sprint steed this year. I suspect it will stay with me, although my daughter loves it and wants me to insure her for it this year (I doubt it due to extra impending mods)

Probably not to other people's tastes but my Twingo 133 cup is my keeper. Its the only car I have kept for more than 2 years, now with over 5 years of ownership it won't be sold.
Its currently going through a transformation from road car to rally car. With engine mods, cage, lots of wight removed.
I am still struggling to find a road car to fill its place so I think I will end up with another this year.
