The front bars are not chrome plated and are not a show piece. They are in fact solid stainless steel and are not vulgar where I live, they are essential. Ever seen what a 7 foot kanagroo can do the front of a car, or driver for that matter? Didn't think so.
I live in Australia and actually use my vehicle for what it was intended, you don't have to have large dents and doors hanging off to be off road and in need of an indestructable and dependable vehicle that won't let you down in the middle of nowhere and 45-50 degree heat.
Thanks for these details. The size and cut of your bull bar / roo bar are visual cues that this is a functioning piece of kit and not a fashion accessory.I live in Australia and actually use my vehicle for what it was intended, you don't have to have large dents and doors hanging off to be off road and in need of an indestructable and dependable vehicle that won't let you down in the middle of nowhere and 45-50 degree heat.
As photographed, there might be a bit more shine to the stainless steel than if we were all standing there in the flesh. I dunno. But anybody who's spent time in Oz will acknowledge that driving in rural Australia or out in the bush are not to be undertaken in a cavalier way, especially in summer and particularly at night.
Thankfully I haven't had any major interactions so far, but a colleague hit a couple and one went through his windscreen, not a pretty sight..., for him or the roo.

Suggest you get back in your box.
Nice, however, the fact it stands out like a sore fking thumb still makes it totally garish. Being functional doesn't make it any less Garish. The front bars are not chrome plated and are not a show piece. So because I choose stainless steel for additional visibility in the 'bright sunlight' we get here instead of something you think is acceptable, I am wrong?
Wind your fkin neck in pal. You clearly know nothing.
Maybe you should have a pop at me because I have the highest level of window tint permissable too? Or maybe that has something to do with heat deflection?
Mind you, the head lights are wired to be permanently on, perhaps that makes me ghey in some way? Or maybe it just ensures other drivers can see me approaching?, and I can see them because the majority of other drivers in the same situation where I live have the same type of set up
Oh, I quite a gin and tonic on a hot afternoon as well, sorry about that.
D1ck.
Come spend a month in my life, you might learn a thing or two.

I don't need to get into a little bh fight, I'll just repost the meaning of "Vulgar" and then two images
Vulgar - lacking sophistication or good taste.
For what ever reason, to my eyes one of the above is vulgar - the other isn't.
It's no big deal, I just found it ironic that someone who drives around in something that looks like it came out of a Mad Max film used the word vulgar.

You choose to try and make yourself look cool by having a dig at something you know nothing about, others have tried to point out to you on this forum that you might just be wrong, I merely gave you the facts for my choosing what is actually a helpful addition to my work vehicle.
I couldn't care less what you think is vulgar or not. As stated, if not already clear, having the right tools and set up where I am based could be the difference between life and death. It's as simple as that.
You just don't seem to be able to accept that you might just be wrong and have to face backing down.
It's keyboard warriors like you that are rapidly turning me off this site.

Irony is claiming something looks "turd", "vulgar" and "nasty" whilst driving around in a Land Cruiser straight out of Mad Max You choose to try and make yourself look cool by having a dig at something you know nothing about, others have tried to point out to you on this forum that you might just be wrong, I merely gave you the facts for my choosing what is actually a helpful addition to my work vehicle.

Why would I "back down" when I am not in the wrong? Like I said, what ever the reason for your bull bar - there is absolutely no way that you can say that it doesn't look vulgar? It maybe necessarily vulgar but its still vulgar.
I am no keyboard warrior either, I am simply stating facts. Have a G&T, relax and you may get my point

The land Down Under offers a number of tasty beverages -- wines, lagers, for example. Sharing some of those would seem to be preferable to a full-on argument. Edited by unsprung on Wednesday 14th February 16:56

You made a petty, ignorant and uneducated comment to try and make yourself look cool and have since tried to justify it.
I think you should re-read your posts, there are no 'facts', just your own warped opinion. Stainless Steel, not Chrome. Functional, not bling. Suggesting the thing is not used off road because it's clean and tidy in the shot when taken, when in FACT, it is used off road on a daily basis. You then put a brown bread image of a G-wagen in your post (the earlier versions of which I actually owned, used properly and still think are way cool for reference) rather than the original vehicle I commented on, which was the subject of the article, presumably to try and bolster your 'point', which is actually irrelevant.
As for Mad Max...., grow up.
You clearly lack the intelligence to understand when perhaps you might have got hold of the wrong end of the stick, and so stoop to being childish. So I will leave it there, I have better things to do, like having a G&T with the thousands of other 'vulgar' vehicle drivers over here ??
As previously mentioned, it's a shame folks like you are ruining what used to be an interesting forum for the exchange of intelligent likeminded enthusiasts. I won't be responding any further so you can focus your trolling on someone else,

1. You are the one that initially made "a petty, ignorant and uneducated comment to try and make yourself look cool"
2. Your Land Cruiser is Vulgar. Regardless of the reason, this is a FACT.
3. I posted a G-Wagen to highlight that it's not Vulgar compared to your Land Cruiser, how is this irrelevant?
4. Initially I thought the Bull Bar was cosmetic, you have explained that it isn't, fair enough. Still doesn't change the fact it's Vulgar, why is this point difficult to understand?
5. I don't think the Internet is for you. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
